Homecoming Week is fast approaching at Florence High School! FAFA Dance wants everyone (yes everyone) to get into the spirit by joining us for some Hip Hop classes! Tuesday, Sept 15th. These classes will be taught by our FAFA Dance Guest Teacher Chmira Dayvon!

6pm -7pm Community Class is for everyone (suggested ages 10 and up) Kids, Teens, FHS students, FHS teachers, and even parents! 7pm -8:30pm Class is for int/adv dancers ages 12 and up.

Chmira (Shuh-Meer-Uh) Dayvon is a Nashville-based dancer, choreographer, and model. He has performed with artists including The Weeknd, Walker Hayes, MC Lyte, Shy Carter, Leslie Jordan, and Big & Rich, has been featured in Vogue’s Best of Photo Vogue, and is a CLI Conservatory alumnus.

His classes emphasize community, confidence, and self-belief, beginning with the mantra: “I believe in myself, and I am in control of my body.” Specializing in Hip-Hop and Jazz Funk, Chmira focuses on stamina, performance, musicality, and camera training. His positive, supportive teaching style encourages dancers to push beyond their limits, value effort over perfection, and discover their full potential.

Excited to welcome back Erika to our Florence studio for several days of technique classes Aug 1-3. Intermediate Sat. 1-3, Sun 3-5, Mon 3-5. Advanced Sat 10-1, Sun 5-8, Mon 5-8. Come to all or just 1 or 2 days. Fee $70 for int and $90 for adv. Day rate $30 int and $40 adv. Call the studio to register. Dress any fitted dance outfit and ballet shoe.

Erika Keller grew up in a military family and began her ballet training in Germany as a scholarship student studying the RAD syllabus and continued her training with a focus on classical ballet. She then joined Columbia City Ballet and attended the University of South Carolina, majoring in Fashion Merchandising before moving to NYC where she built her career in the fashion industry while also performing as a freelance artist with Ballet for Young Audiences, Albano Ballet, Jersey City Ballet and Dances Patrelle. After spending several years as a freelance artist, she began choreographing repertoire for American Liberty Ballet, a company she performed with as a principal artist for several years, and has since presented work at various locations including New York Live Arts, Abrons Arts, Peridance, Arts on Site and Madison Square Park. Beginning in 2021, Erika co-produced a collaborative performance with intent to showcase multiple genres and choreographers in NYC that grew into an annual production and in 2023, Erika was commissioned by composer Alex Wakim to choreograph for his multifaceted production, Dust and Ions at Alvin Ailey Dance Theater in NYC.
