Fastpitch softball team in the central MS area.

Gulfport, Ms was one for the books. A long weekend and even though we didn’t get the finish we hoped for, there was a lot of progress this weekend. Our girls proved once again they do not give up until the very end. Even with the odds against them they will stand there and battle for each other. 3rd place finish and going 7-2 on the weekend. We couldn’t be more proud of this team for showing the grit and heart it takes to be warriors in this game. Now we have a couple of weekends off to prepare for the next one. ⚡️🥎 HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS — DIAMOND STATE INVITATIONAL RECAP! 🥎⚡️

The Diamond Legacy Events 13U Diamond State Invitational has come and gone, and what a weekend it was for Mississippi Lightning! 💙💛

With 48 of the best 13U teams in the country competing, we knew this weekend would be a challenge. Friday was a rough start, going 0-3 in pool play, but these girls showed what they were made of when it mattered most. They refused to let one tough day define their weekend!

The girls battled back in bracket play, going 2-2 and finishing in the TOP 20 out of 48 teams! We came up just one game short of Championship Sunday and a potential top 16 finish, but we couldn’t be prouder of the way this team responded to adversity. 💪🔥

There were no easy games, no handouts, and nothing was given to these girls. Every win was earned. Every battle made them better. They stepped up to the challenge, competed against some of the best teams in the country, and proved they belong on that field even if age was a difference. Probably the youngest pitching staff in the entire tournament but it’s what helps our girls grow.

The scoreboard doesn’t always tell the whole story. Sometimes the biggest victories come from how you respond when things don’t go your way. This weekend was a reminder that it’s not how you start, but how you finish!

We are proud of these girls, proud of their fight, and proud of the growth they continue to show. The work doesn’t stop here — we take the lessons, build on the experience, and keep getting better! ⚡️

TOP 20 OUT OF 48! That’s something to be proud of! 💙💛

⚡️ NEXT STOP: HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS! ⚡️

Our girls are stepping up to another BIG challenge this weekend at the 13U Diamond State Invitational presented by Diamond Legacy Events & Alliance Fastpitch! 🥎🔥

With 48 of the best 13U teams from 17 states coming together, there won’t be an easy game—and that’s exactly why we’re excited!

We know the competition will be tough. We know we’ll be tested. But these girls have never been afraid of a challenge. They’re ready to compete, battle, and see what they can do against some of the best in the country. 💪🏼⚡️

Time to step up.
Time to compete.
Time to leave it all on the field.

LET’S GO LIGHTNING! ⚡️💙💛

🥎 THE CAJUN — IN THE BOOKS 🥎

The Cajun by Diamond Legacy Events has come and gone, but the memories made and lessons learned this weekend will carry with us for a long time.

We finished Top 8 in our first 14U tournament, going 3-3 on the weekend and making our way to Championship Sunday.

A 3-3 record may look like .500 to some, but what the scoreboard doesn’t show is everything behind this Top 8 finish in an elite tournament.

For some of our girls, there was an age gap of 3 years, including two of our pitchers. They stepped on the field against girls older and more experienced than them and never backed down.

And there’s one thing these girls will NEVER let you see…

FEAR.

They have ZERO fear when it comes to this game. They will fight until the very end, for each other and for every single pitch.

We are incredibly proud of the way they battled, found a way to get some BIG wins, and earned their way to Championship Sunday. We fell on our face to end the day, but that one moment does NOT define everything these girls accomplished this weekend.

It’s about the fight.
It’s about the challenge.
It’s about getting back up.
It’s about believing in each other.

Keep fighting. Keep believing. Never back down from a challenge.

Girls, we are so proud of you! 💙⚡️

Now it’s time to GET BACK TO WORK and get ready for Hot Springs in a few weeks.

09/20/2026

After a 1-1 finish in pool play Friday, we started bracket out with a heart breaker loss in ITB. The girls fought until the end but came up a little short. They didn’t stop, they fought back for a big win to punch their ticket to championship Sunday. Time to turn up a little bit and show out tomorrow. Let’s go Lightning!!! 💙⚡️💛
