We are excited to welcome Coach Brandon Hyman to the Carolina Select family!

Coach Hyman will play a major role in overseeing player development and fundamentals throughout our program, specifically with our 8U team, but he will have a huge developmental role in all of our players and the direction of our organization.

His knowledge of the game, passion for teaching, and commitment to developing young athletes make him a tremendous addition to our staff.

Brandon brings extensive coaching experience to Carolina Select, including serving as an assistant coach at South Florence High School and as the Head Baseball Coach at Trinity Collegiate School. Throughout his coaching career, he has helped develop players both on and off the field while building successful, competitive programs grounded in discipline, accountability, and a strong understanding of the game.

At Carolina Select, our mission is to develop complete players by emphasizing fundamentals, baseball IQ, and character. Coach Hyman’s experience and teaching ability align perfectly with that vision, and we are excited for the impact he will have on our athletes.

Please join us in welcoming Coach Brandon Hyman to Carolina Select Baseball!

We track everything in baseball—except one of the most important things.

“Momentum is built through the plays most people overlook.”

It’s not always the highlight plays.
It’s running hard. Taking the extra 90. Getting the leadoff out. Finishing innings.

The teams that understand momentum don’t wait for it—they create it.

Game Awards & Standouts:

Select Award – Matthew Piccolo

Matthew had a strong weekend at the plate, consistently barreling baseballs and putting together quality at-bats. His approach and timing stood out all tournament long.

Defensive Award – Game 1: Ford Allison

Ford was outstanding behind the plate, showing real toughness and effort. He blocked balls all game and made a big impact throwing out a runner stealing, with a great tag applied by Liam Bustamante at second base to complete the play.

Defensive Award – Game 2: Bobby Kahn

Bobby was everywhere defensively at second base. He played with confidence, range, and consistency, acting like a vacuum in the middle of the field and taking away hits all game long.

Heart of a Lion Award – Game 1 (Saturday): Bobby Kahn

Bobby also set the tone in Game 1 with his energy, attitude, and the way he supported his teammates. True example of what it means to compete for the group.

Heart of a Lion Award – Game 2 (Saturday): Landon Spivey

Landon brought great energy and was a constant teammate first guy. Always engaged, always encouraging, and always ready for the next play.

Heart of a Lion Award – Game 3 (Sunday): Noah Cole

Noah stood out on Sunday for his team-first mentality. He competed hard and continued to lift the group even as the weekend went on.

Proud of this group and the way they continued to compete this weekend. Weekend baseball has a way of exposing both your strengths and your weaknesses, and for us it was a mix of struggles, growth, and moments that showed exactly what we’re building. The focus continues to be on the little details, the ones that don’t always show up in the box score but absolutely show up in development over time.

We had flashes of really good baseball, and we also had moments where we learned some tough lessons. That’s part of the process. The response from our players, though, is what matters most. They kept showing up, kept competing, and kept finding ways to support each other through every inning.

At the end of the day, the scoreboard tells part of the story but the bigger story is the development, the effort, and the foundation being built through experiences like this. Proud of the growth, and even more excited about what these lessons will turn into moving forward.
