1935 – 1950 // Paper

During World War II, h**p became scarce — and rope makers had to get creative.

💡 The solution? Paper ropes! Yes, Really! 📜
Special machines sliced paper into thin strips, which were then twisted into ropes. Even Teufelberger invested in this technology to keep production going. But after the war, it was back to h**p — because paper ropes had some serious drawbacks.

Still, it’s a fascinating chapter in rope-making history!

1790 – 1935 // H**p & Tow

When Teufelberger was founded in 1790, rope making looked a little different…
🌿 The go-to materials? Natural h**p fibers and tow — short, lower-quality h**p fibers.
🖐️ These were combed by hand (later by machine), spun into yarns, and finally stranded into ropes.
And for the history buffs:
🪢 Archaeologists have uncovered rope fragments made from willow and linen bast dating all the way back to the Stone Age! 🤯

Rope has always been a thread through human history — and we’re proud to be part of that legacy.

Verdon 2K wasn’t just about breaking records. It was about chasing flow — together — from sunrise to sunset. The rope was part of the game. Trust, friendship, and the ability to climb & fly made it possible.
