The vibe attracts the tribe 🙌 Our Autumn hunting season is off to a great start with Holston Hounds . Today we welcomed an international guest to our hunt from 🇫🇷 France, celebrated the birthday of our lovely Hunt Secretary Vicki Jonkers (we hope you have the best day) and had so many other big moments together as a club. What a great group of people to be a part of. Interested in hunting? Message us and….. Come Ride With Us!

To anyone who has ever brought a green horse to a show:

We see you, and you are doing a fantastic job. 🐴❤️We see the polished rounds, the blue ribbons, and the perfect social media clips. What we don’t see is the monumental effort it took just to get that young or inexperienced horse onto the trailer and into the environment.

Taking a green horse to a show is a massive undertaking. It’s a sensory overload of flapping flags, loudspeaker echoes, strange horses, and high-energy atmosphere. Just managing to walk past the scary corner of the arena or standing quietly by the trailer is a massive victory.

We need to remember that horses are not machines. They don't have an on/off switch, and they don’t care about our timelines or the money we spent on entries. They are living, breathing animals with their own fears, big feelings, and learning curves. A "bad" day at a show isn't a failure—it is a vital building block in their education.

Let's start shifting the culture in our sport. Instead of staring or judging when a young horse has a meltdown, let's offer a helping hand, a patient smile, or a word of encouragement. Every single grand prix champion or seasoned schoolmaster started out as a looky, nervous green bean.

If your goal this weekend was simply to get your horse into the ring and survive, celebrate that win. You are building a partnership, and that takes time.

Let’s start supporting each other more. We are all in this because we love the horse. 🥂

👇 Drop a picture of your green bean below and tell us a small victory you had recently! Let’s celebrate them together!
