Due to ongoing weather conditions and the resulting safety concerns on the mountain, we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue all winter activities for the remainder of the season.

This was not a choice we wanted to make. Like many of you, we’ve been hoping for winter to finally arrive and allow us to open more terrain and build momentum for the season. Unfortunately, the conditions simply haven’t improved enough to safely continue operations.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support, patience, and encouragement we’ve received from this community. Soldier Mountain exists because of people like you, and that support means more to us than you know.

While this winter didn’t unfold the way any of us hoped, we’re already looking ahead and working toward better seasons to come. We look forward to welcoming you back to the mountain soon.

This season marks year one of the Soldier Mountain Ski Team and the start of a long-standing tradition serving the kids of Camas County Schools. Local kids. Big mountains. Even bigger dreams.
Huge gratitude to Head Coach Erica, former member of the Austrian National Ski Team, for bringing world-class experience, heart, and momentum to the next generation. And a massive thank you to PK Sports Sun Valley for stepping up and supporting these athletes from the ground up.

Attention Ladies!! After looking at the forecast and considering several factors, it has been decided that Ladies Day 2026 is canceled.

All of our participants that have already paid will be given a resort credit to use however they choose in the future. (Including Ladies Day 2027) we are disappointed to not be able to have our program this year, however the less that favorable conditions would make it impossible for us to make this a great experience. Hope you will join us in 2027.

UPDATE: The RMSHA race at Soldier Mountain has been postponed due to weather, but we’re not slowing down.

New dates are locked: February 27–28, 2026. More snow, better conditions, louder sleds, and a full-send weekend at Soldier Mountain Ski Area in Fairfield, Idaho. Get the crew ready and save the dates—this one’s going to hit.

This season has tested us in ways we didn’t expect. Opening dates pushed back. Watching the weather closely. Wanting so badly to open our doors, but wanting even more for it to be worth it when you arrive.

With that said—we are officially planning to open January 10th* (*weather permitting), and we’re holding onto a lot of hope.

Terrain will be limited at first, but there is very good news. While the lower mountain has seen rain, our higher peaks and backcountry are holding incredible snow. (Pictured above) Truly some of the best conditions in Idaho right now. We’re beyond excited to get CAT skiing and backcountry trips fired up—this is where Soldier Mountain really shines.

We cannot thank you enough for your patience. We’ve been chomping at the bit right alongside you, dreaming of skis on snow, cold air in our lungs, and that pure rush of joy that only a day in the mountains brings. This place means everything to us, and sharing it with you—our friends, family, and community—is why we do what we do.

So we’ll ask this genuinely: please keep praying for snow. We believe there’s still time for a late but beautiful season, and we’re ready to make the most of every turn.

Mark your calendars for January 10th*. We can’t wait to welcome you back home.
