ation, and feel available to only some. Zia Yoga & Wellness is an intentional and inclusive space, created for anyone who has felt othered elsewhere to feel affirmed and welcome. Through our work, we empower our students to help us in making waves in the wellness industry by challenging norms, disrupting systems, and mobilizing people to be in action to create transformative social change.

Eight years of Zia.

A yoga studio is an unusual thing to measure in years.
Its life is really measured in practices.
In doors opened early in the morning.
Mats rolled in a circle around the mandala altar.
Conversations before class.
Long savasanas.
Teachers sharing what they have learned.
Students returning again and again.

When I opened Zia in 2018, I had a big vision for what this place could become. Eight years have given that vision more texture than I ever could have imagined.

We’ve grown. Closed our doors. Practiced through computer screens. Reopened. Flooded. Moved. Rebuilt. Begun again and again.

And through all of it, you kept showing up.

Somewhere along the way, Zia became far more than the business plan I wrote in 2018.

It became the person who walked through our doors nervous about their first yoga class and eventually found their place in the circle.

The teacher who discovered their voice here.
The friendships formed in the lobby.
The classes we took outside when inside wasn't possible.
The money we've raised for organizations doing important work in our community.
The conversations that have challenged us to think more deeply about who wellness serves and who has historically been left outside of it.

Building Zia has changed me, too. Eight years later, I’m clearer about what I want this place to stand for: yoga rooted in its teachings, practice that welcomes real human bodies and lives, and a community that cares deeply about one another and the world beyond our walls.

There is still so much I want to build here. And lately, I can feel that sense of possibility growing again.

Eight years in, the doors still open. The mats still gather around the mandala. We breathe together. We practice. And we keep becoming.

Thank you for being part of this story. ❤️

How do you prepare together for something you cannot completely predict?

You create time to practice.

Our Partner Yoga for Labor, Childbirth + Beyond Immersion brings expecting parents and their chosen support people into a shared space for movement, breath, touch, conversation, birth education, and hands-on learning.

Over the course of this immersive practice, you’ll explore ways to support one another throughout pregnancy and labor while also preparing for the changing needs, decisions, and rhythms that can accompany childbirth and the early postpartum days.

We’ll work with supportive movement, breath practices, partner-assisted positions, massage and therapeutic touch, comfort measures, communication, advocacy, and practical postpartum support.

There is room here for the birth you are planning and for the adaptability every birth asks of us.

You’ll have time to try the practices together, ask questions, notice what feels supportive, and begin creating a shared language you can carry into your birth space and your first days at home.

All trimesters are welcome. No yoga experience is necessary. Families preparing for vaginal or Cesarean birth are welcome.

And your support person can be whoever you want beside you: a spouse, partner, co-parent, friend, family member, or doula.

Partner Yoga for Labor, Childbirth + Beyond
Saturday, August 22nd from 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM
$128 per 2-person pair

Only one person needs to register for your pair.

Space is intentionally limited to create room for hands-on practice, individual support, and connection.

“I want to try yoga. I just have no idea where to start.”

If that sounds familiar, you’re in good company.

Most people don’t walk into their first class knowing the differences between classes. They just know how they feel...

“I’m stiff.”

“I’ve been sitting all day and need to move.”

“I want to feel stronger.”

“I’m exhausted.”

“I need some quiet.”

And that’s enough information to begin.

At Zia, there are different ways to practice because there are different ways we arrive.

Your body may crave movement one day and stillness the next. You may come looking for flexibility and discover that you love feeling strong. You may arrive ready to move and realize what you needed most was an hour of quiet.

There is room for all of it.

And you don’t have to choose one kind of yoga and make it yours forever.

Start with how you feel today.
Begin where you are right now.
We’ll meet you there.

New to Zia? Our 21-Day Unlimited Starter Pack gives you three weeks to explore our classes, practice with different teachers, and begin discovering your own rhythm.

Flexibility is something people often gain from practicing yoga, but it isn't something you need before you begin.

Every class at Zia includes choices for different bodies, different experiences, and different seasons of life.

Some students touch their toes.
Some don't.

Both are practicing yoga.

You don't have to arrive feeling ready. You simply have to be curious enough to begin.

Sometimes community shows us a better path.

When we first imagined our Welcome Blanket Project, we pictured everyone knitting squares at home and bringing them together into one shared blanket.

But after hearing your questions, excitement, and curiosity over the past few weeks, something became clear:

We'd rather knit together.

So this Sunday's Zia Sangha is becoming a cozy community crafternoon.

✨ No knitting experience needed.
🧶 We'll have yarn, needles, and simple instructions.
🥨 Bring a snack to share if you'd like.
🤍 Come spend an afternoon on the mats with good company, learning something new, or simply enjoying the rhythm of creating together.

The blanket doesn't have to be finished in one afternoon.

Like any community, it grows one stitch, one conversation, and one gathering at a time.

Join us this Sunday. We'd love to have you.

One of the most common concerns we hear isn't about yoga at all.

It's about walking through the door.

Will everyone know each other?
Will I be the least experienced person?
Will I know what I'm doing?

We understand those questions.

That's why our classes are intentionally limited to twelve students. Your teacher learns your name. There is time to ask questions. We offer options instead of expectations.

We believe community grows one conversation and one class at a time.

If you've been quietly wondering whether yoga is for you, we'd love to help you explore that question.

One square can become part of something much bigger. 🧶

Join us for our next Zia Sangha as we gather to create a Welcome Blanket for a newly arrived immigrant or refugee family through the Welcome Blanket Project.

Whether you knit, crochet, or simply want to spend an afternoon in good company, there's a place for you.

✨ Create one or more 10" × 10" squares at home and bring them along, or come help us assemble the blanket together.

We'll share conversation, potluck snacks, and the simple joy of making something with our hands that carries a message of welcome.

Patterns and instructions are available at the studio or when you RSVP. We hope you'll join us.

Is yoga for me?

One of the questions we ask at the end of our 21-Day Unlimited Starter Pack is:

*What were you hoping to get out of your New Client Offer?*

One student's answer was beautifully simple: "Whether or not yoga is for me."

We imagine they're not alone.

So many people are curious about yoga, yet wonder if they'll fit in. They worry they're not flexible enough, strong enough, calm enough, or that everyone else in the room will know exactly what they're doing.

That's one of the reasons we created our 21-Day Unlimited Starter Pack.

We don't think a single class can tell you whether yoga belongs in your life.

Over three weeks, you have the opportunity to experience different teachers, explore different practice styles, and notice how movement, breath, rest, and community feel in your own body. Some people discover they love slower, quieter classes. Others find joy in building strength or moving with more energy. Most discover that there isn't just one way to practice yoga.

Our hope has never been that you'll master a pose.

It's that you'll find a practice that feels supportive, sustainable, and worth returning to.

If you've been quietly wondering whether yoga is for you, we'd love to help you explore that question.

The earliest months of parenthood ask so much of us.

There is joy, tenderness, exhaustion, learning, healing, and an entirely new rhythm taking shape.

This summer, we're honored to introduce Connected Beginnings, a new therapeutic Parent & Baby Yoga offering created for parents and caregivers with non-mobile babies.

Each class combines gentle postpartum yoga, pelvic floor-informed movement, breathwork, infant development, and simple practices that support connection, confidence, and everyday life with your baby.

There is no expectation that babies sleep through class or that parents arrive feeling put together. Feed your baby. Change a diaper. Pause when you need to. This space was created for real life.

Popping Up on Tuesday, July 28th at 11 AM and joining our regular schedule this fall.

If you, or someone you love, is welcoming a new baby this year, we'd love to share this season together.

At Zia, we believe belonging is something we create together through connection, authenticity, and community. And as a queer-owned studio, we're honored to hold space where people can show up exactly as they are and be welcomed.

Join us this week at PrideFest, at the studio for a special Community Pride Practice on June 29th, and throughout the year as we continue building a community rooted in care, courage, and belonging.

These gatherings continue our commitment to creating spaces where authentic relationships can flourish, because...

Pride is choosing community over isolation.
Pride is celebrating authenticity.
Pride is creating spaces where everyone belongs.
Pride is showing up for one another, again and again.

We hope you'll join us this week, next month, and throughout the year as we continue building a community rooted in connection, care, and belonging.
