We have a big trip coming up next week, 3 days 15 clients 5 guides. I donated a trip to the club so I have 4 days and 2 more clients, aka more fun for me! 😂.

needs a reload on bass streamers. Im loving the results from the unweighted mini nut job, if you are not fishing it its crazy fun on a intermediate tip! Of coarse Zelda’s, they feed the need always have always will….😎

Next up, is Zudbubblers for . He is coming up to help us with this trip, since he has so much knowledge and experience in our area, plus he is a homeboy, its a easy fit. Yeah some of you caught that….. poppers + john, he will be floating some top shelf smallie water that also has a population of browns and brookies.
Trout bum john can fish a poppers Yall, I’ve seen it 😂

And it rained again today. 1.5 inches total since April 14 now🫣

What a fun trip!

Amanda and Brian hit me up a few days ago and asked to get out. Amanda had never fly fished, Brian had 5-6 times.

We had some good bug activity most of the night, but the fish started slow. Brian popped a little guy, he kept the ball rolling all night, I think he landed 4. Amanda was out for her first trip ever with the fly rod. We got her casting well quick! She worked hard all day, never gave up, missed a few takes but never gave up….

So here is the story, Amanda thought she had hooked her waders in the back, so I was walking over to help her, and I fell… filled the waders up and yeah…45 min left, so I’ll be ok😂 about 10 min later Amanda’s fly got ate! She set well and handled the fish well! We got it into the net walked over to the bank so we could get it unbuttoned photographed and released. First fish on the fly, a 19 inch brown!! Hell yeah!

Took a trip down some of our resident smallie water with today. Bluebird day, not a sniff of a cloud.

We did fairly well tho! We missed 2 pike and moved one other, landed a few 3’s and Joe lost a gorgeous 4-5 pounder boat side. It’s cool to see bronze bass again. The migratory fish are so light in color in comparison to the residents. The shape is different too.

68 degree water and we could not get them to look up at the popper🤷🏻‍♂️ meh next time 😎.

I got Mark and Kayla out for a Smallie trip, supper skinny water super bright day, we went we worked it hard found a few but the bite was slow. So we pulled the plug re-grouped and went trout fishing. Mark lost a dandy at the net but Kayla saved the night with this beautiful brown!

Excellent information from Fly Fish Food.

Melissa and I have been preaching the “hold your breath rule” for years! Better yet do jumping jacks until you cant any longer, then hold your breath. She actually teaches this to kids by having them run in place and then hold their breath at the park she teaches outdoor hunting and fishing at.

Please watch this and share this! This is the best info for all catch and release anglers!

The one thing that was not touched on is gloves. No gloves on fish. And in my boat, you are still wetting your hands🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Super Fun Guide Trip Today!

Jim and Lisa joined me on a perfect 75 degree UP day!

We put a bunch off fiah in the boat!

Jim got the Hawg 5 pounder!

Beth and Paul took a ride with me today. Finally heat, sun, energy in the water. We rubbed bones all day, I think the lower section is done unless we get a big rain. 😔

First popper fish for 2026 goes to Beth! It took my Z Frog on the dangle. First popper fish is late but it’s been so cold.

We fished it hard and had a blast! Thank you Paul for coming up!
