How about a rod review?

We picked up a Echo 9ft 8wt Streamer X this season, and man are happy we did! Every client who handled it asked about it after a few casts and was happy with its preformance.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of Kelly’s rods but this one hits the mark! It’s responsive and smooth, s**t loads of power both casting and moving a fish.

The grip is different, its kinda like a full wells but it tapers at rod. Its very comfortable.

Matched with Ross eveloution a SA bass Bug and its a perfectly balanced easy to cast all day rod!

9 out if 10 in my book!

If you are in the market for a mid priced streamer/popper rod this is a excellent one!

Let the trout rest hook smalljaws instead.

A 15 inch smallie on a 4wt pulls harder than a 20 inch trout anyway yall. 😂

As our dry fly season manifests from mayflies to terrestrials now is the time to think about that mid summer dry fly brown trout trip! The forecast looks hot for the next 2 weeks (force me to smallie fish 😂) but after that we go back to the highs in the 70’s and lows in the 50’s!

Whats on deck? Well stoneflies, dragon flies, damselflies, beetles, hoppers and other big protein packed bugs! For all of July August and September heck even into October! Mix in the Ephrons madness in early August, the MASSIVE day time ant hatch in early September and the October caddis “skate it” hatch in late sept/early oct!

We have the easiest wade water you have seen its very friendly to mobility challenged anglers!

So if you are looking for daytime into dark dry fly fishing for excellent quality browns we can get you out!

83 years young!
Bruce had never caught a brown trout before. Mission get Bruce a Brown trout.
That was not our original goal. Bruce had wanted a float trip for smallmouth bass. He has a bad hip and was disappointed when we had to switch trips due to lack of floatable water. That being said. This river is an easy wade and Bruce was pleasantly surprised. After lunch we decided to go further up river for a more challenging wade. The move definitely paid off and Bruce was able to get his first brown trout ever. At 83 he was excited to add a new species to his list. He has been fly fishing most his life and it was awesome to give him something new and unexpected Congrats Bruce!

What are they eating? That protein reward, all day long

Evening sesh after my trip tonight. Missed 3 fish and hit a 13 early. Then Melissa came and found me she had landed 3 and one was a 20!

So I made my way down. Found a few fish, worked my way out to one that I thought was a 14-15 second cast and sip! Instantly I knew it was not a 15! 🤣

18.5 and thick!

Jo Anna and Romain all the way from JAPAN! Ok, for a wedding on Mackinac Island, but I get them on the way to and from!

Today was smallmouth! We started out slow, cold fronts can be a bummer. We hit 2 fish quick so the stink was off. By the time we ended we had 3, 4 pounders, some 3’s and some d***s.

First smallies ever and personal best set high!

JoAnna pimped the single hook Nut Job and Romain rocked the …….. yamasinko. I told Romain the senko is why I quit spin fishing. Too easy. 😂

Super fun day! Next is trout on Monday!
