The old Boat Barn is getting a massive upgrade! We just poured and stamped some beautiful new concrete, and it’s officially transforming into an epic new event space.

The momentum is real right now—we’ve got the well in, and our main focus is fast-tracking the brand new Bar & Grill. Get ready for a fresh interior space, an improved bar, and a killer new stage area! 🎶🍔
We're working hard so we can get all of you back out here to enjoy it. Stay tuned for more photo updates on our progress, and keep an ear out for news on the cabins soon.

Thanks to Z Pro Inflatables for donating facilities and time and to Man of Rubber River Gear for donating valves to repair our rafts and duckies that survived Helene. Z-Pro’s professional repair and custom outfitting facilities are in Traveler’s Rest, SC. Matt had a blast making the trip South!

If you need gear, they have great deals on durable tubes and SUPs; our Z-Pro paddleboards and river tubes that weren’t swept away stayed inflated for a year and a half!

It means the world to have partners in the industry step up with donations of time and supplies to support our recovery effort. We highly recommend both!

A huge appreciation to everyone involved in the making of this film.

We’re proud to share the completed film about what happened to our river and what happened after Hurricane Helene tore through Appalachia.

Following Hurricane Helene, our community came together to rebuild lives, restore access, and protect the Nolichucky River. Guides, outfitters, volunteers, and families stepped up when everything felt uncertain.

But this film goes deeper.

It also examines the railroad reconstruction through the gorge — and the serious concerns raised by river users and environmental advocates about how that rebuilding was handled. This film gives voice to those concerns.

It is not just about a storm.
It’s about stewardship.
It’s about accountability.
And it’s about a community that loves its river enough to speak up for it.
To us here at USA Raft the Nolichucky isn’t just where we work, it’s home. And this story matters. Please watch and share..

A Story Worth Telling — And We Need Your Help to Tell It.

After Hurricane Helene turned our lives upside down, something incredible happened here in the valley — our community rose up. Neighbors, guides, volunteers, and local crews stepped in to clear debris, reopen access, support families, and help bring the Nolichucky back to life.

Now, that journey — our journey — is being captured on film.

The Noli Film Project by 2nd Act Films is telling the story of resilience, heartbreak, hope, and the unbreakable bond between the river and the people who depend on it.
This film isn’t just about a disaster. It’s about who we became in the aftermath.

We already have a beautiful gift to build on:
An anonymous donor contributed $25,000 and secured the film crew’s next visit for more interviews.

Now we’re asking our community to help us match those funds over the next 5 weeks so the team can finish editing, production, and distribution — and share the Nolichucky’s story across the country, including at the National Paddling Film Festival.

Every donation matters. Every dollar will be matched. And every bit of support helps bring this story to life.

They continue to provide propane and so much more for our team and so many others still living in campers.
