Etiquette is part of the training.

Dance class teaches us more than technique. It teaches us how to listen, receive correction, respect others, handle disappointment, be prepared, and contribute to a shared space.

These habits matter far beyond the studio.

Because talent matters, but so does how you show up, how you treat people, and how you make a room feel.

The goal isn’t to be “proper.”
It’s to become someone others want to learn, create, and work alongside. 🤍

Continuing our series of conversations with former male dancers Aari and Aavyn, we’re exploring the lasting impact of dance education beyond the studio. Dance builds skills, habits, and ways of thinking that can carry into every area of life.

Dance demands discipline, resilience, and the ability to receive feedback. Which of those skills has been the most valuable outside the studio, and why?

Aari: I think my biggest takeaway was learning how much the smallest details truly matter. Looking back now, I can see how my attention to detail, the way I work, and how I approach certain tasks have all been shaped by the things I built when I was younger through dance. Dance taught me to be intentional, disciplined, and aware of the little things, and I continue to carry those traits.

Aavyn: The most valuable skill I learned dancing is the importance to accept and implement feedback. With such intricate movements it is important to take corrections. Learning to take such nitpicky corrections and implement them helps in every aspect of my life and also instilled a sense of patience with corrections as well.

🩰 SIGNS OF RESPECT IN BALLET

Ballet etiquette is about more than knowing where to stand or how to behave in class. It’s about showing respect for your teacher, your classmates, the studio, and yourself.

We’re starting with five simple habits that make a big difference:

① Come prepared for class
② Keep your hair secured and out of your face
③ Treat your teacher with respect
④ Treat the barre with respect
⑤ Pay attention, not just to your own corrections, but to everyone’s

These may seem like small things, but they create a classroom where everyone can focus, learn, and grow.

Good etiquette isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present, prepared, and respectful. 🩰

Dance has the power to tell a story. 🎭

Theatre Dance explores the movement style commonly seen on Broadway and in musical theatre productions, blending ballet technique with the energy, style, and personality of jazz.

Dancers learn to use movement to develop characters, advance a storyline, express emotion, and connect with an audience while building musicality, stage presence, performance quality, and confidence.

✨ Ages 12+
Younger dancers may be evaluated upon inquiry.

📅 Classes begin August 31!

Rhythm, coordination, musicality, and a whole lot of footwork! 👞

Tap is more than learning steps—it’s learning how rhythm, movement, and music work together.

Tap introduces foundational rhythm patterns while developing musicality, coordination, balance, control, memory, and body awareness.

Dancers learn to recognize, repeat, reverse, and combine rhythmic patterns while developing the muscle memory and confidence needed to pick up choreography.

✨ Tap 1: Ages 6+
✨ Tap 2: Ages 9+
✨ Tap 3: 3+ years of experience or Ages 13+

📅 Classes begin August 31!
