🦈💙 EXCITING NEWS FROM SHARKS RUGBY! 🏉

Hi Sharks Family!

We have some exciting news to share about the future of Sharks Rugby!

After a lot of prayers, conversations, and careful thought, we’ve decided to take the club in a new direction. We’re shifting our primary focus toward T1 Rugby — a fun, inclusive, non-contact version of the game!

Our vision is simple: MORE KIDS PLAYING RUGBY!

We believe that by introducing kids to rugby without tackling, we can welcome more families, build a stronger rugby community, and most importantly, help kids fall in love with the game first.

We’ve seen this approach work before! At our previous club in California, we grew a touch rugby program to 250 kids. We’re excited about the opportunity to build something similar right here in Southwest Florida!

🏉 WHAT’S NEXT?

We’re planning to launch our first 6-week Sharks Rugby T1 program on January 12, 2027, welcoming boys and girls of all ages.

💪 WHAT ABOUT TACKLE RUGBY?

We’re not walking away from tackle rugby! While we’re scaling back our traditional tackle program, we’ll continue supporting players who want to play tackle by helping connect them with other clubs and opportunities.

🌴 TROPICAL 7s IS STILL ON!

We’re looking forward to returning to Tampa next Easter, with the goal of bringing both a U12 and U14 select team!

💙 HELP US BUILD SOMETHING SPECIAL!

Community support is what makes youth rugby possible, and we’re going to need your help!

Whether it’s coaching, volunteering, spreading the word, or simply inviting another family to come try rugby, every little bit helps.

Our goal is bigger than just rugby. We want to create a place where kids can have fun, develop new skills, build friendships, and become part of something special.

What an incredible opportunity to go up to Baltimore and experience the springboks. Giving the boys a real taste of what rugby culture looks like. It’s amazing how rugby brings people together. We saw friend from year ago playing in California and from Tampa area. Made new ones (South African, New Zealand and usa) and got to meet some of the springboks. One thing is for sure, we were blessed this weekend!!!!! And it re-ignited a passion for the sport we love. A culture beyond all. Thank you Springboks!!!

Touch Rugby is back on Siesta Key 🌴🔥

Starting April 29th, we’re running beach touch rugby every Wednesday all summer long.

📍 Siesta Key Main Beach (near the volleyball nets)
⏰ 6:30 PM – Sundown

No experience needed. No age limit. No sign-ups.
Just show up, get a run in, and enjoy the beach.

Good people. Great vibes. Beach rugby.

Bring a friend, bring some water, and come get after it 💪🏉

What an incredible weekend at Tropical 7s 🏉🦈

A team with players from 4 different clubs playing together for the first time.

Our U12 Sharks showed heart, grit, and resilience all tournament long, battling their way to the Plate Final. While we came up just short against a strong USA South Panthers side, we couldn’t be prouder of the effort and growth this team displayed.

More importantly, this weekend was about more than just rugby. These boys built real friendships, created unforgettable memories, and learned what it means to compete, support each other, and represent something bigger than themselves.

From the first whistle to the final huddle, this group showed what Sharks Rugby is all about — courage, respect & community

Thank you to all the players, parents, team manager/mom and coaches who made this experience so special.
