Baby Huey of Big Rocks Rapid

This massive garnet schist boulder, weighing in at 30-tons, coming all the way from the Pilar Cliffs, is one of the most notable characters of our Racecourse section. Back in July of 1991, there was a massive downpour that lasted multiple days, which led to a few rockslides along the river. While no one was hurt, the road took a beating as Baby Huey decided he wanted to be closer to the water, leaving a crater in the road you could swim in!

Now we have Big Rocks Rapid! Don't forget to get a close-up of the big guy, he's one of our favorite rocks on the river!

It's Ducky Season 🦆

In a low water season, one of the best ways to up the adventure is to go out on one of our inflatable kayaks, aka Duckies! These rafts give you control of the wheel (or should I say, the paddle?), so you get the thrill of carving around rocks and navigating rapids yourself! You won't be out there alone of course, as one of our trusty guides will paddle alongside you and show you the way! No ruffled feathers here!

When making a reservation, be sure to let us know if the inflatable kayak is for you!

When it comes to rafting, we are stronger together!

With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, it is important to remember that there is strength is community, not only in rafting, but in everything. We are all in this boat together and sometimes the only thing you can do is paddle forward with those around you! Some rapids will be big and challenging, and some water will be calm and peaceful, but together, we can make it through anything.
