🐾 Meet the NMRA dogs 🐾

3. LJ aka Monster

Louie and Gus are the beloved pups of the NMRA owners. You may recognize Louie from his rounds in the shop as our profession greeter and longtime employee of the month! He is built for the outdoors, addicted to fetch, belly scratches, and car rides. His brother Gus prefers to spend his time inside (with AC and cuddles) but is still down for an outdoor adventure with his family, especially if it gets him in the water! He'll love you forever if you give him some good scratches.

Monster is the trusty sidekick of our Boatyard Manager Luke (hint: LJ stands for Luke Jr.) He is an absolute ball of enthusiasm and love, always ready to load up for an adventure or settle in for some cuddles on the porch. He is our go-to morale booster!

We love seeing all the seasonal NMRA dogs come through with our guides, too! They keep our community lively and offer all those comforting snuggles on hard days. Paddles up for man's best friend!

Flipping out for the Rio Grande!

This guest showed off some sick flips at our S***e Hole rapid on the Rio Grande! 10/10!!! We love capturing moments like this! It reminds us that these trips are exactly what you make of them, and we can all carve out memorable moments that'll last forever! Hard Work on the Rio Chama

Our 3-Day Chama trips are prepped and loaded by the wonderful, hard-working guides acting as your companions for the weekend! They load up their gear boats with everything you need for the trip, from the stellar food to your personal camping gear! This leaves your boat open and roomy so you can focus your attention on that beautiful canyon and the people you're adventuring with!

🏆 The Rio Grande is #1 🏆

To us here at NMRA. The section of the Rio Grande that stretches through NM is a special river, given the official title of being a "Wild and Scenic River" in 1968. It was one of the first eight rivers to be given this title by Congress.

This section of the Rio Grande stretches for 74 beautiful miles, completely free flowing and fueled by snow melt. The land around it is allowed to flourish, providing homes for countless wildlife species and plants. While we are subject to the rise and fall of its natural levels, we will take anything it may offer because we are so thankful for the protection it receives. As long as the snow keeps coming in Colorado, this river will be running for generations to come!!!

We love that there's a day to celebrate the kiddos out there embracing the adventurous life! They light up our days with their cheesy smiles and silly faces. At NMRA, we're honored to share in their adventures and watch them grow into brave and confident explorers.

They grow up fast though, so don't let those precious moments slip away! Nothing connects a family like an ol' fashion rafting trip where you have to work together to power through the rapids and have a splash war along the way!
