The Equestrian club is a great opportunity to get involved on campus. We compete through IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association). One of the best things about this club is that you do not need a horse, or have any riding experience. In IHSA riders are assigned a horse based on their skill level and will be judged on their equitation (or how they look on a horse).If you have a horse you can b

oard it at our team barn! Members can be either competing or non-competing. It is a personal choice for each member if they wish to compete or not. Members who compete travel to shows and can show English, Western or both. We show at colleges across the Pacific Northwest including LBCC, WWU, UW, UO, and OSU. Our show season runs from September to March. During show season we have weekly ride nights where both competing and non competing members get to practice for shows. We also offer private lessons with our coach, president, vice president and captains. Members who chose to not compete are more than welcome to join us for ride nights and will have numerous chances to get on a horse. Our horses are all personally owned by members, meaning we have no “university owned horses.” Each member is responsible for their monthly board check, any other horse expenses. We also have no professional coach. Our coach is a CWU student just like every other member which is a very unique thing to have in an IHSA club.

Hello everyone! The Central Washington Equestrian club is in desperate need of lease horses! We are located in Ellensburg Washington, just outside of town. We have lovely members of all experience who are excited to take care of some new blood! Our club needs ponies to run and we can’t do it without help! Thank you!

Team Horse Requirements:
• Can be boarded at our wonderful team barn in Ellensburg Washington
• Can be ridden by riders of all different levels (beginner through expert)
• Safe around other horses
• No stallions
• Experience in both Western and English disciplines preferred
• W/T/C
• We prefer horses come with tack and grooming supplies
• Horses may be used for all team ride nights, so must be able to comfortably work 3 days a week
Horses may be any age, breed, color, etc. Leasees will be team members with horse experience.

The CWU Equestrian club is hosting its 3rd annual spring sale April 25-26th!

Our team is looking for any and all donations that include but aren’t limited to clothing, shoes, books, kid’s toys, horse items, and household items to sell at our sale. All money raised will go towards travel, hosting our home show here in Ellensburg, and new equipment!
