Last week on Monday, February 26th, Ms. Sofia Cortes was evaluated and promoted to Yon-Kyu (green belt) in the Order of Isshin-Ryu Martial Arts!

Ms. Cortes comes to every class and gives it her all while balancing both school AND a part time job. She serves as an example of patience and determination. We are all very proud! Congratulations ma'am! ⛩️👊🏻

Our Kyu Gasshuku is getting close! It's going to be a great day of fellowship and topics shared by all the presenters.

Earlier this week on Monday we had special guests!Sensei David Ginn and Mr. Zane Fanning of the Virtual Dojo - Order of Isshin-Ryu and Sensei Michael Nolen and Mr. Christian Nolen of Ocean Pines Martial Arts Academy traveled 2+ hours to come and join our class. We walked through our kata, took that kata and applied it to self defense drills, and ended the night with a good couple rounds of point fighting.

Thank you gentlemen for going out of your way to make the trip and join our class. 👊🏻⛩️

Congratulations to Ms. Maddie Gough, who did an excellent job leading the class through kata, demonstrating great prowess in her sparring, and answering any and all questions regarding her kata and pamphlet.

Ending with the final challenge of kicking through the break board with a powerful shout of spirit. Ms. Gough performed well and earned her orange belt, Roku-kyu, in the Order of Isshin-Ryu Martial Arts. Congratulations! ⛩️

A special thank you to Sensei Popp and Sensei Nolen for coming to visit the Hombu and YMCA classes this past Monday. Both Sensei traveled quite far from Harrisburg and Ocean pines respectively. It was wonderful having a large combined class for the holidays. Great energy and focus. ⛩️👊🏻

Members of the Hombu Dojo and the Elkton YMCA OIMA Dojo traveled down to Trappe to work out with our family down in Southern Maryland. Sensei Waldridge and the black belts led class in safely falling to the ground, defending from the ground, and escaping mounts and locks. Always fun sharing techniques and drills while having a great time. Thank you to Sensei Brittingham and the rest of the Trappe Dojo for having us 👊🏻⛩️

Congratulations to Christian Nolen for earning his Roku-Kyu, orange belt, in the Order of Isshin-Ryu Martial Arts earlier this week. Mr Nolen not only worked hard to prove himself that night, but he has proven himself through the hard work and dedication he puts in attending tournaments and representing the OIMA. Congratulations Mr Nolen! ⛩️👊🏻🎊
