If you've already had four awesome races on a holiday weekend, why not hit a fifth?!

Trevor did what Trevor does this morning and rocked a road mile in 4:11.8 against college runners, high school kids, and all comers in Wi******er, VA .

Now, like his teammates, he shall rest! 😀💪

Trevor’s win in the 800m is the first individual win that we know of by an Elkins boy at distance of a half mile or longer at the WV State Meet since 1947.

Fellow Tiger Joe Riley won the the 880 (half mile) 79 years ago. Adjusting for the slightly different distance, Joe’s time would be about 2:01.19 if he’d run the 800 meter distance.

Credit to seven guys for this relay win! Ben, Logan, and Treven got the job done with help from Dylan at regionals. That paved the way for us to qualify Bobby, Josh, and Trevor where we needed them at states. At states, Bobby, Josh, Dylan, and Trevor finished the mission.

Hats off to all five of these girls for the roles they played in this moment! Haley’s willingness to run the relay at regionals helped Julia keep her legs a little fresher to qualify in the 800. Julia returned the favor by helping the 4x400 qualify at regionals even though she didn’t run it at states. Emilia, Molly, and Alyssa each ran the 4x8 at regionals and states.

With the State Meet weekend in the books, here is a recap of the school record-breaking performances...

On Friday afternoon, the boys 4x800 squadron of Bobby, Josh, Dylan, and Trevor bettered their previous record from Big Ten (8:06.72) by 10 seconds to hit a 7:56.80.

That evening, Trevor finally beat Mark Nichols' previous record (9:18.84, 1980) in the 3200 with a 9:16.39.

The next morning, Emilia ran a 5:00.78 in the 1600m to get past Julia's previous mark of 5:06.18.

Shortly afterward, Trevor's 1600m time of 4:17.78 beat his own record of 4:19.75.

Finally, Trevor's winning time of 1:57.02 in the 800m snuck past Bobby's previous record of 1:58.68.

Iron sharpens iron and a rising tide lifts all boats. Nice job raising the bar this year y'all!

It will be a weekend that many will talk about for years. Your Elkins Tigers had a phenomenal showing at the 2026 State Track Meet! There were 5 school records, 3 state champions, and many that placed top 8! The boys finished 4th with 64 points. The girls finished 7th with 42 points. Trevor was 2nd in high point with 28.50 and Julia was 3rd with 20.50!
