Minnesota Golf Association

Minnesota Golf Association To uphold and promote the game of golf and its values for all golfers in the state of Minnesota. Each junior competes on a district level.

Seven golf clubs founded the Minnesota Golf Association in 1901, creating an organization designed to uphold and promote the game of golf and its values for all golfers in Minnesota. Since its inception, the MGA has produced a long list of services oriented toward the golfer, the golf course and the game itself. The first of those services was the competitive golfing event, the Amateur Championshi

p. First played at the conclusion of the MGA's inaugural meeting, the Amateur is one of the oldest and longest running sporting events in the state. It has become a popular tradition with the top amateur golfers competing annually. The growth of golf has prompted the addition of events to the MGA's championship schedule. There are now another 16 MGA amatuer championships for golfers of all ages and abiliteis. They include the Mid-Amatuer, Players' Championship, Senior Players' Championship, Four-Ball, Senior Amateur, Senior Four-Ball, Mixed Amateur, the Gross Team Championship and the Net Team Championship. For junior golfers, the MGA sponsors a statewide junior program. Top finishing teams advance to regional competition. Those teams that finish in the top of the regions qualify for the MGA Junior Championship. More than 1,500 juniors from approximately 200 courses participate every year. Additionally, the MGA hosts the Minnesota STate Junior Boys' Championship and assists with the Minnesota State Junior Girls' Championship.

Minnesota golf has a new crew — and you can wear them home.

Stop by LaunchPad Golf anytime on Saturday, June 6 for Golf Day Minnesota and grab a temporary tattoo from our new collection.

Four characters, all proudly Minnesotan, all ready to ride along on your next round.

Pick your favorite and celebrate the game we love across our state. 🌟

Meet the collection:

🪶 Looney the Loon — Our state bird and the calm before the tee shot. Looney has logged more lakeside rounds than anyone in Minnesota and still calls every par “just fine.”

🎣 Wally the Walleye — The best-dressed angler on the course. Wally traded the boat for a bag, and that argyle vest means business from the first tee to the last cast.

🐻 Bogie the Bear — Your friendliest caddie in the North Woods. Bogie reads greens, hands out towels, and swears the name is just a coincidence.

🪓 Paul & Babe — Minnesota’s tallest twosome. Paul’s drives clear the treeline and Babe hauls the bag — a folk-legend pairing built for big swings and bigger lakes.

⛳️ Anderson and Klasse do it again.

Lynn Anderson and Leigh Klasse rallied with three birdies over their final five holes and survived a one-hole playoff to win the 2026 MGA Women’s Senior Amateur Four-Ball Championship at Stillwater Country Club, finishing at even-par 146.

It’s the fifth four-ball title for the longtime partnership — and a reminder of what makes this event, and Minnesota golf, worth coming back to year after year.
