At the front desk, we've had stacks of flyers for 2 very different upcoming Western Mass music festivals that both hold a special space in my heart and much of our clientele shows love for each… and sometimes both.

For Western Mass festivals, one holds the finest in jam music, whilst the other holds the mega mosh of heavy music. One features bands with names like Leftover Salmon, Future Joy and Desert Rain, while the other has bands like Wh**es, Squid Pi**er and Horse Grave. Though, a Venn diagram would show a commonality of skulls, references to ‘Dead,’ awesome indie artists, tent camping in the dark woods and of course in general, really good people!

I’ve been to both festivals many times and I support both Wormtown Music Festival 2026 and RPM Fest. If you’re going to either or both, stay safe and enjoy the music!

Prodigy works with a few great recovery groups with admission donations and special rates for private rentals and I'm always looking for more groups that could use some assistance.  I personally understand the struggle of finding social activities and outing ideas that don't include the possibilities of substance use and the exposure to those pressures.

It's not for everyone and not everyone needs a change, but after 15 years of indulging while touring on the road, bar after bar, club after club… what I ended up eventually finding in sober living is so much more rewarding; physically and mentally.  We're here if you ever need a new perspective because there's always another option.

A cool, somewhat hidden feature to Prodigy is the very exclusive Membership program that we offer to customers that regularly come by at least once a week. Currently, we’re at about 20 members, most of which stop by twice a week and a few every night! Some, in fact, stop by on their way home from work for a quick game, say howdy and vanish like the wind. It’s an awesome way to have access to the room every open day while not feeling obligated to stay for hours.

I want to offer a deal just for September (aka Shrektember to us). The usual cost of these memberships is $70 per month, but for this September, any membership bought will come with the option of buying 2 months for only $110 total. This option is open to anyone but especially the ones that want to try out stopping by Prodigy weekly or maybe daily to see if making Prodigy part of your regular regiment could be a simple something that fits your fancy.

Work on a save of Skyrim, practice the course for the tournament in January, invite different friends to play billiards every night or work on a speedrun of Sonic 3. There are many ways to take advantage of this offer. Of course, this isn’t for everyone and actually won’t appeal to most, but I wanted to try this out in case anyone wants to jump aboard! Just stop in any open night in September to purchase this option.

NEW HOLE ALERT!

Hole 4 has not only been reimagined, remixed and remastered, but it has been reformed.

I was talking to pro minigolfer Brandon Robinson, days after my last tournament and had one of the best and most productive discussions I've ever had about mingolf and my course in specific. One of these topics was how he classifies each hole on what he considers a great course. Of all the classifications he ties to my course, it was only missing 1 type: The Timing Hole (ie, the Windmill or a moving object that requires a sort of timing).

I struggled with this thought for 6 months and wondered how I can incorporate timing into one of my holes. Well, this week, I finally implimented it. Hole 4 now features an up and down ramp with the top featuring 2 turners that slowly spin flat obstacles to avoid less resulting in rejection of your offering or rerouting of your shot.

Hole 4 also has a few other cool features like a viable hole-in-1 opportunity and a fun bank shot off the tee. Come try it this week!

Hole 11 is the newest victim of remixing that I accomplished this week. I also remixed Hole 2, but let's concentrate on Hole 11, here.

Before, you had one choice to tee off aiming to the right, banking off the rail and leaving the ball in line for a second putt up the inclined ramp. Now, there are 2 choices... both of which have the fantastic ability to hole in 1, unlike before.

You can tee off aiming down the middle and attempt to bank off of the 3 different sized angles at the top of the ramp to run the ball to the right and hopefully directly onto the green.

The other option is to simply bank off the left rail off the tee and go directly up the inclined ramp. I replaced all the obstacles and even fixed the ripples in the carpet that nobody probably noticed... but I did. All set now!

This past week, I finished updating 14 of the 18 holes of the course. The most prominent of these changes was to hole 3.

Before, you were forced to tee off up the incline and attempt the pass-through at the top. Failing to make that, would roll you down into the fairway, but putting too hard would bounce you back to the tee pad.

Now, you have an option of a pass-through directly off the tee to the fairway, completely avoiding the incline. I also moved the tee pad back, posted an obstacle in the middle of the tee area and added many warts and struts to the rails. These changes open up many new strategies for hole 3!

Over the last few weeks and on into the next couple months, I'm updating, remixing and remastering the course. One new feature that I'm consistantly implementing is the "strut," as they will be referred to as.

Joining the "wart," which is an angled long obstacle flat against a side rail that makes banking the ball a little more troublesome, the "strut" will be used for good.

Struts will straddle virtually any 90 degree angles on the course. Struts are 45 degree sections that will make banking the ball not only more reliable, but more true. 90 degree angles are much more difficult for the golf ball to ricochet, thus counting on that perfect bounce. I will be showing this feature off in the next strategy videos coming next month on the YT channel. Come try them today!

A couple friends of mine have a podcast called 'Musician U' where they examine and dissect all sorts of gaming and music related happenings! Their latest episode about chiptunes features some amazing info about how retro 8-bit systems produce sound and music for games... with a little cameo from yours truly! Holes 7 and 8 have been officially reimagined.

Hole 7 used to have the 3 bank method to get to the green, which I always thought was a little much, so it only requires 2 banks now but features a much thinner, exact approach. Hole in one-able for sure!

Hole 8 has been widened featuring a new L-shaped middle obstacle. The two section gates have been closed considerably, but still allows for a possible hole in one (which I have done during play test).

I've also, for the most part, closed off the 2 holes from each other to stop disturbance from players on the other hole. Come try them out! (I also worked on Hole 5... many more to come, soon)
