Twenty-five years.
When we woke up this morning, we knew the forecast was anything but predictable. There were moments when we watched the radar, held our breath, and prayed for wisdom with every decision, because one thing mattered above everything else: getting our riders, volunteers, and community safely through the day.
And tonight, it seems fitting that we end with sunshine.
Today reminded us that while we can make plans, so much is out of our hands. Through it all, we truly felt a hand watching over this ride—guiding us, protecting us, and helping bring hundreds of riders and hundreds of volunteers safely through another Tour de Corn.
Riders: We are incredibly grateful that more than 863 of you chose to support Tour de Corn this year. Some of you traveled across the country. Some came from OTHER countries. Some have been here since the very first Tour de Corn. Some experienced East Prairie for the first time today. Every one of you became part of our story. To every rider who was able to make it to East Prairie—thank you. And if you couldn't, we completely understand (what a week!) and can't wait to welcome you next year.
Our first responders were incredible. Our SAG drivers never stopped moving. Our rest stop volunteers welcomed every rider with a smile. Law enforcement, emergency personnel, churches, civic organizations, businesses, sponsors, and neighbors all stepped up without hesitation. When our riders needed us, our communities answered -- and boy--do we love this Corn Family and missed those not with us today. Never forget: YOU are the reason this ride is what it is.
Tour de Corn has never been about miles. It’s about people. It’s about hospitality. It’s about a network of communities that come together to care for complete strangers like they’re lifelong friends.
As we celebrate the 25th Tour de Corn, we’re reminded just how proud we are to call Southeast Missouri home. These little towns show up. They care. They serve. And today, it reminded us once again why this event has lasted a quarter of a century. YOU.
To every rider who returns year after year—and to those who discovered us for the first time—we hope you felt what we’ve always known: this part of the world is more than a stop on the map. It’s a family. And you're now part of it.
Thank you for making our Silver Anniversary one we’ll never forget. Well, you and the rain. 😉
So let us dry out a bit… but before we know it, we’ll be getting ready for the privilege of welcoming you "home" for Tour de Corn '27.
