On October 2, join us at Colorado Trails Ranch for a scenic two-hour trail ride through the mountains, followed by lunch from Chef Davis, live Western music, and good company in the lodge.⁠

Then on October 3, we’ll head into downtown Durango for one of our favorite traditions of the year, the annual Cowboy Gathering Parade.⁠

Each year, we bring our horses downtown, offer free pony rides for local kids, and join ranchers, farmers, and Native tribes from around the region as we ride down Main Avenue together.⁠

This is a pretty special week at Colorado Trails Ranch! ❤️

For many years, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming Code 3 Associates to the ranch for their Equine Investigations Academy.

Since 1998, this unique academy has helped train humane investigators to recognize, investigate, and respond to equine cruelty.

And a big part of that training happens right here at the ranch.

Through a mix of classroom learning and hands-on experience with our horses, investigators gain skills they can take back into their own communities to help protect horses in need.

It’s a week we look forward to every year.

We love being part of such important work, and learning right alongside them.

We’re incredibly proud that Colorado Trails Ranch gets to play a small part in work that reaches far beyond the ranch.⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠

This year marks an incredible milestone at Colorado Trails Ranch: ⁠
❤️ Ms. Jeanne’s 60th year at the Ranch. ❤️
⁠
In her six decades, she’s done just about every job there is to do. Wrangler. Housekeeper. Server. Cook. General Manager. ⁠
⁠
She’s seen the Ranch through fires, floods, countless changes, and generations of guests walking through its doors. Through it all, she has remained one of the constants.⁠
⁠
But what makes Ms. Jeanne so special isn’t simply how long she’s been here. It’s how deeply she loves this place and the people who come to experience it. She still genuinely enjoys spending time with guests, sharing stories, and being part of the little moments that make a week at the Ranch unforgettable.⁠

Colorado Trails Ranch simply wouldn’t be the same without Ms. Jeanne. Here’s to an extraordinary 60 years. ⁠

On Wednesdays, the kids put their baking skills to the test!

One of the sweetest traditions in our summer kids program is baking class with our ranch baker, Liz. The kids learn new skills, get creative with decorating, and share plenty of laughs along the way.⁠
⁠
And the best part? They’re not just baking for themselves. The kids make an extra dessert to serve to their families at supper that evening. ❤️⁠

A little independence, a little teamwork, and a whole lot of fun… just another day of making summer memories at Colorado Trails Ranch.⁠
