This weekend state qualifier Reese Appenzeller split his time between wrestling and TSA and took home 1st place as part of the robotics team!

Justin Westbrook, Senior, 175lbs, 5th Place
This senior held nothing back. He made it to the semifinals on Friday and battled his way through several tough matches on the backside. He also hit his 99th win at State! ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ…๏ฟผWe canโ€™t wait to see what the future holds for this guy!

Connor Martindale, Junior, 126lbs, 6th Place
This Junior showed a whole new level of dedication and determination this weekend as he unexpectedly re-injured his ankle in his very first match. Despite that obstacle, he wrestled through it to take 6th place.

We ended day one at State with a nail biting match and a win courtesy of Justin Westbrook! We also got to meet up with BHS wrestling alumni Dante Candelaria for dinner and reminisce about all the memories made.

The Bayfield Wolverines showed up and showed out at Regionals, and we couldnโ€™t be more proud of how these young men competed! Their hard work and determination paid off in a BIG way.

๐Ÿฅ‰ Justin Westbrook โ€“ 3rd Place at 175 lbs

๐Ÿ… Daemon Christner โ€“ 5th Place at 150 lbs

These wrestlers left it all on the mat and represented Bayfield with heart, toughness, and class. This success is a testament to the countless hours of training, discipline, and commitment theyโ€™ve put in all season long.

Last night was all about heart and Wolverine pride. Our BHS wrestlers showed up bigโ€”defeating Cortez and battling hard against a tough North Fork team. Win or lose, this group proved exactly what it means to compete with character and resilience.

Bayfield Wrestling brought the heat at home tonight with BIG wins over Ignacio and Durango! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿคผโ€โ™‚๏ธ Our wrestlers battled with heart and Wolverine pride from the first whistle to the last.

Even better? The stands were PACKED! Huge shoutout to our amazing community and school family for showing up loud and proudโ€”you make a difference and our kids feel it! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›
