Today we remember a true Duncan Demon.

AJ was more than just a fan of Duncan basketball—he was part of what made it special. For years, he was a familiar face in the stands, cheering on the Demons with unmatched passion and loyalty. Whether the game was at home or miles away on the road, you could count on AJ to be there supporting his team.

If you wanted to know the history of Duncan basketball, AJ was the person to ask. His knowledge of the program was incredible, and he loved sharing the stories, players, and moments that made Demon basketball what it is.

His love for the game didn’t stop when the final buzzer sounded. AJ could often be found at the Simmons Center, always ready to jump into a pickup game, encouraging younger players, building friendships, and sharing his love for basketball with the next generation.

Programs are built by players and coaches, but they’re sustained by people like AJ—those whose unwavering support, enthusiasm, and love for their community become part of the program’s identity.

Thank you, AJ, for every mile traveled, every cheer from the stands, every story shared, and every life you touched. Your presence will be deeply missed, but your impact on Duncan Demon basketball will never be forgotten.

OSSAA Dead Period: June 27 - July 5, 2026

Duncan Demon coaches and student-athletes, please note the upcoming OSSAA Dead Period from June 27th through July 5th.

During this nine-day period, OSSAA summertime policies are strictly enforced:

No Coach Contact: Coaches and sponsors may not have any contact with secondary-level enrolled or pre-enrolled students for the purpose of coaching, teaching, training, or instructing in any OSSAA-governed athletic activity.

Facility Closure: School athletic facilities (including weight rooms, fields, and gyms) are closed for use in connection with any OSSAA athletic activity.

Independent Work: Student-athletes are permitted to train or workout on their own, but they cannot use school-provided equipment or facilities to do so.

🏀 A Great Week at Camp! 🏀

Our goal this week was simple: have fun and learn the game.

The campers spent the week working on ball handling, passing, shooting, footwork, and competing. Along the way, they learned some old-school basketball terms like “BEEF” and “Hand in the Cookie Jar,” played plenty of Hot Shot, and even learned the Spider Dribble.

We believe basketball should be fun, especially at this age. At the same time, the fundamentals matter. The better players get at the basics, the more confidence they have and the more they enjoy the game.

I was proud of the effort, attitude, and coachability our campers showed all week. Hopefully, we helped grow their love for basketball.

Thanks to all the players and parents who made it a great week. The future of Duncan Basketball is bright.

Great week at the MS Velma Team Camp!

Our 7th and 8th grade teams both finished the week by winning their division brackets on Thursday, but what stood out even more was the growth we saw from our players throughout the week.

We had players showing up before 7:00 AM to get extra shots up before heading to camp each day. That kind of commitment is what helps build a successful program.

Most importantly, our players were incredibly coachable. They listened, competed, learned, and got better every day. It’s exciting to see the progress they made in just a few days.

The future of Duncan Basketball is bright. Proud of this group and the way they represented our program this week! 🔴⚫🏀
