Duluth Figure Skating Club

Duluth Figure Skating Club The Duluth Figure Skating Club uses the USFSA Basic Skills Program for Learn-to-Skate classes and has been teaching skate for more than 100 years!

The DFSC Learn to Skate Program consists of a 30-minute lesson and additional practice time for skaters from 3 years old to adult. There are four sessions offered per year - Fall, Winter & Spring Sessions are held on the weekend and Summer Session is on Monday evenings. The Duluth Figure Skating Club uses the USFSA Basic Skills Program for Learn-to-Skate classes. Our program encourages ice skating

at all levels and is designed to keep students excited about skating from the time they begin until they achieve their goals. Each skater will receive an embroidered badge for each class level completed. Registration for our classes is prior to the start of classes and all registrations must be completed before skaters can participate in class. Registration is available either online or on scheduled dates provided on website for upcoming session. Class size is limited and payment must accompany registration. Refunds will be given only in the case of cancellation of the session. Credit is given for medical emergencies, and any such request must be submitted within 30 days and be accompanied by a physician's excuse. Learn to Skate classes are highly recommended for the beginning skater to learn the basic fundamentals of ice skating. As a skater advances through the USFSA Basic Skills Program and the skating maneuvers become more difficult, private lessons may be used to supplement the group lessons. Skaters who have either passed the levels in the USFS Basic Skills/Learn to Skate Program, have a desire to compete or just want to pursue a higher level of skating can join the Duluth Figure Skating Club. It is recommended they join our Junior Club program (see below). Interested skaters are eligible to compete in any of several Basic Skills Competitions in our area. The Duluth Figure Skating Club is host to the annual Northland Basic Skills Competition in January. Members of our Learn-to-Skate program are invited to participate in an annual Spring Ice Show.

Friendships made on the ice last a lifetime! 👯‍♀️❄️ Look at this joyful photo from March 3, 1965! Skaters Louise, Linda, and Connie rehearsed their energetic group routine for the 41st annual Ice Follies at the Curling Club. One of the sweetest parts of joining ice skating lessons is the lifelong bond kids build with their rink mates. Learning together, cheering each other on, and sharing laughs on the ice builds memories they will cherish forever.
