On June 28, 1998, the Duluth News-Tribune published a beautiful retrospective looking back at more than four decades of ice shows. Over 2,500 local skaters, from 2-year-old tots to adults in their 70s, have represented Duluth, Superior, and local communities over the 40 years of Duluth Ice Follies.

On October 27, 1964, local news celebrated Duluth native John C. Hendrickson being named a professional skating director. Having earned his U.S. Gold Medals in figure skating and dance while completing his degree at UMD, John was dedicated to passing his expertise on to the next generation.
