It may be early May, but time to start thinking about Bangin' time! Saturday September 19th, it's the best, muddiest, toughest, most-fun 10k on the Shore!! Bangin' in the Brush will have the usual food, fun, swag, and excitement. Set your calendar, and lace up your shoes!

It's spring skiing.

The 5K loop today offered it's expected mix of debris, icy crusty snow, more-than-occasional deep pole plants, and a classic track that was more of a suggestion in many places. That said, between the 4K and 5K cutoff the trail and striding was an 8 out of 10, likely for the last time this season unless we see a drastic pattern shift. With quickly deteriorating conditions, and a mix of rain and warm temperatures coming through the weekend, extreme caution is needed on the trails. Some equipment challenges have brought grooming efforts to a quick halt. It was a fine season for the couple months it lasted. Perhaps sustained surprise snow in later March...?

****RACE CANCELLATION****. Despite the best efforts of our crew, the Eric Judeen 10K classic race for tomorrow has been canceled. 2 days of warm up have left us with very solid dangerous icy conditions. Trails remain open but ski with great caution. Warmer temperatures next week should make the snow a little more workable.

The Erik Judeen 10k Classic race is being held this Sunday morning at 11 AM at Korkki. No charge, come out for an end-of-the-seaeon fun race that's been held for over 60 years! Trails will be closed all day Friday for prep due to the warm forecast. Back open Saturday.

Korkki trails will be closed all day this Friday February 27th for trail prep and preservation given the warm temperature forecast. Trails will reopen for the weekend.

Thanks to the help and hard work of friends, neighbors, and the assistant assistant chiefs of trail, the parking lot is open and about 7.5 km of trail is groomed. Oh the snow!!

Pretty crusty snow and a little debris today, but decent tracks throughout most of the course. Rollercoaster and big hill remain closed until we get better snow.

Kick Sled Klassic rescheduled for Sunday February 1st at 1 PM! New year, new event!

Sunday FEBRUARY 1ST, Korkki Nordic is hosting a new event to celebrate Scandinavian culture and old time low-tech winter travel. The 2026 Korkki Kick Sled Klassic will 'kick' off at 1:00 p.m. Two kickers at a time, one loop around the field. Fastest time of the day will receive a gift certificate to Great Harvest Bread. This family focused event will happen regardless of the weather with a large fire going to help stay warm. No entry fee, open to all ages. Hope to see you there!
