Featuring Sierra, the Drahthador!
What's a Drahthador, you ask? Sierra is 50% Deutsch Drahthaar, 50% Labrador, and 100% awesome!
Growing up, Sierra's handlers would take her to a local creek to play. They noticed she wasn't just jumping into the creek to retrieve her toy; she was launching! In 2020, her handlers learned about our non-member practice at Maggie Malick, and in the tale as old as time, Sierra and her handlers immediately fell in love with the sport. They signed up for Chesapeake DockDogs' PuppyPalooza later that season and never looked back!
Since then, this team has traveled to some really cool destinations for dock diving, including Vail for the GoPro Games (their favorite event!), Arizona, Michigan, South Carolina, Florida, Vermont, all along the Eastern seaboard, Iowa for the DockDogs World Championships, and many other states across the country, plus all of the local club events!
Sierra just turned 8 years old, and upon entering her first Veteran year, her handlers are extremely proud of her accomplishments, including joining the Big Air Elite Club a couple of years ago and scoring personal bests at the very top of Speed Retrieve Nitro (6.074💨) and Iron Dog Gladiator (2935🔥)!
Her handlers credit DockDogs, and especially CDD, for keeping her young at heart and physically fit. 15 states and 400 waves under her belt and this girl still has a lot of gas in the tank. We are thrilled to continue to be part of the ride!
Handlers: Beth Czaban and Jim Czaban
