I had a check in with Kevin this morning, for those of you who don’t know he is one of the best people you ever meet❤️
Kevin is a stay at home dad, retired vet, cancer survivor, dad of 3 girls, and very few people if any work harder than this guy. He was our member of the month last month but that doesn’t mean the celebrations stop!
Kevin is always so happy, shows up with a smile on his face, greets everyone in class just the same, and works his absolute butt off. Look at his post workout shirt🤪
More importantly Kevin is honest. He’s not afraid of I say, let’s flip the box to 20” instead of 24” or let’s use a training bar for overhead squats. He’s willing to go hard and push himself but more importantly he’s willing to listen to his coaches when it’s time to pull back.
Sounds simple right? It’s really not though. People wanna go go go and are sometimes afraid to listen to coaches (even though that’s what they’re paying for🤣). But Kevin understands that sometimes we have to pull back in order to move forward.
He’s also honest with himself. Last check-in (we do these quarterly) he said “I’ve been eating like crap. I feel stronger and I’m lifting more weights but I wanna get a pull up.” Today’s check-in “My nutrition is better. I’m being more mindful of how much protein I’m eating and I’m eating nuts on the go while I’m bringing the girls to their sports.”
That’s it you guys!!!
Be like Kevin. Think about what you can add or swap to your diet. Make your protein portions bigger. Ditch the Doritos for assorted nuts. I promise you’re gonna feel 100000000x better. Bonus, your hard work in the gym will start to pay off.
Be like Kevin. Over a pound of muscle gained a month is insaneeeeee progress. You don’t get there by accident. You don’t get there just by exercising. You get there combing your exercise WITH healthy nutrition.
Proud of you Kevin, keep it up❤️
