Way to go Nevada!

A group called Motorcycle Rights for Nevada has been increasing its efforts to allow riders to move between vehicles during stopped or at a crawl traffic, a method called lane filtering.

This is not exactly the same as lane splitting which allows to do this at higher speeds.

Both lane filtering and lane splitting are illegal in the Silver State, while lane filtering is allowed in Utah since 2019, in Arizona since 2022, in Colorado since 2024 and in California since 2016.

Proponents say allowing motorcycles to jump the line for example at a red light makes everyone safer.

This idea was discussed yesterday at the interim legislative committee on growth and infrastructure.

“We believe every rider deserves safe roads, fair treatment, and a voice in shaping the policies that affect our community. By working with lawmakers, agencies, and advocacy groups, MR4NV pushes for legislation that respects rider freedoms while promoting responsible road use,” MR4NV writes on its website, currently pushing for a future legislative bill in the 2027 session to allow lane filtering.
