Denton Ballet Academy

Denton Ballet Academy Welcome to the Denton Ballet Academy. We offer beginning through advanced classes in Russian classical ballet and character dance for children through adults.

The Denton Ballet Academy was established in 1979 by Hugh Nini as an institution of classical ballet instruction. In August 2011, Eldar Valiev and his wife, Lilia Valieva, purchased the Academy and have continued the strong traditions, both in the ballet school and in its resident company, The Festival Ballet of North Central Texas. The school curriculum emphasizes a strong classical technique and

a flow of movement that suggests a sense of energy, freedom, and joy. It is a style that is the foundation of, and readily adapts to meet the demands of, any type of movement or dance form, such as modern, contemporary, jazz or drill team.

Dear friends, thank you all so much for your sincere comments and kind words of condolence for my mother! My entire family and I, both here in the United States and in Russia, thank you for your support during this difficult time. God bless you all.

It is with great sorrow that I share this sad news. This afternoon, Russian time, my beloved mother, Aelita Valieva, passed away at the age of 92. My sister Era and brother-in-law Andrei are currently in Ufa, Russia. Our entire extended family, including my son Samat, niece Anastasia, cousin Elvira, and all of our relatives, are united by the thought of this difficult loss for us all. Our mother lived a long and happy life. She always served as an example of optimism, striving for perfection, and loving each other and everyone around us. She was a very classy and beautiful lady, inside and out. She will never be forgotten and will always be loved. -Eldar Valiev
