Heard there is a rumor that I took the equipment I said was being ordered up to Auburn. Just want to assure everyone that is not the case. Shipping has just been pushed back I’m hoping it will show up soon. Auburn has what it needs up there for now, my focus is now on improving on Decatur’s equipment and facilities. I apologize for the wait and appreciate everyone’s patience!

ATTENTION PSA TO ALL LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL COACHES, PARENTS, AND ATHLETES. A coach CANNOT, according to IHSAA rules, require ANY off season workouts. This also means they cannot require one workout to participate in another. This cannot come at the threat of playing time or position being taken or anything along those lines. Any type of such requirement can result in sanctions from the state. Don’t get me wrong I understand the team building aspect of summer workouts. And if a kid is sitting at home doing nothing they 100% should be attending. But if a kid has a dedicated strength coach or a position coach that they work out with in the summer even in college on a national title caliber team they encouraged us to work with them.

Thomas Laughlin has finished his post season strength block with a massive 475lb, a 85lb pr on his deadlift at almost 2.5x his body weight. Time to switch up the programming and turn that raw strength into explosive power going into the summer.

ATTENTION! Please Read, Like, and Share!

Starting this year, I want to begin giving back to the community. When I started this gym, I did so with the hope that one day I could pay forward the kindness my family was shown while my mom, Katie Birch, was sick. I have not, and will never, forget that.

Now, I’m asking for your help to make this happen.

Beginning November 1st, I would like anyone who knows a family or individual in need to write or type a letter telling me about them. They could be dealing with illness, going through a tough time, or simply be a hardworking family that’s a bit down on their luck.

Please include an address and a way to get in touch with them. Also note if you wish to stay anonymous, or if I may tell them who nominated them.

You can drop letters off in our mailbox at:

Letters only — no messages through Facebook or other platforms, please.

This will be open until November 15th. I will select 10 families or individuals, and each will receive $500 (for a total of $5,000). The funds will be distributed on December 1st.

I will also accept donations from anyone who wishes to help, either to reach more families or to increase the amount given to the original 10.

My hope is to make this a yearly tradition in honor of my mom, to celebrate the life she gave me and continue her memory through giving.
