This week we highlight our 💥gratitude💥 for Kayla Chin! ✨All Stars ✨this summer is a family affair with Kayla and Aaron getting to work together to support the 10U All Stars White team under Coach McMeekin’s management. Kayla is back from college this summer to give back to DYSA– the organization where she got her start in youth sports. Kayla joined DYSA as a player in 6U and was selected to be a part of the first Dynamite team in 2017. We are so grateful to have our alumni come back and contribute to the next generation of athletes! Thank you, Kayla, for spending your summer break in support of our All Stars program!

12u Dynamite (Gosney) went 5-1 this weekend at the AST Gum Ball Classic and brought home some hardware! The girls had 60 hits, including 2 home runs by Livi A and a triple by Louise K. Huge thanks to Haylee W from 12u Dynamite (Nosek) for joining the fun!

Our 12U 🧨 Dynamite🧨 (DeHoff) team traveled to the 🍷Wine Country Classic🍷 last weekend in Windsor, CA. They had an epic weekend on the field to kick off the summer tournament season. The team went 3-1 overall with stellar defense, phenomenal hitting, and clutch pitching. Most importantly, they had a ton of fun bonding around team dinners, bowling and creating team memories!

Today we extend our 🤩gratitude🤩 to our talented and committed 💖Board of Directors💖! This group of dedicated volunteers works hard behind the scenes (and sometimes front and center) to keep the league moving forward to achieve our mission: "To enable all girls who wish to play softball the opportunity to play softball! We empower our young athletes to work together as a team, to have fun, to develop meaningful friendships, connections and healthy habits that last a lifetime. This is all enabled through the power of our community volunteers."

In addition to these individuals’ volunteer leadership roles within the Board, many of them can be seen actively involved in teams each season– from our recreational program to All Stars to Dynamite! We are fortunate to have such a devoted group of (unpaid) leaders within our organization to guide us into the exciting times to come. Next time you see one of these awesome humans, give them a (gentle) pat on the back or 🙏high five🙏!

What a weekend for Dynamite 12U Nosek in Oklahoma City! On Friday, the team took in the excitement of the Women’s College World Series - witnessing UCLA launch 4 home runs, gaining 15 seconds of fame on the Jumbotron, snapping selfies with players, and cheering their very own Steve Wallace to a well‑earned victory in the dad olympics.

Saturday they had a special opportunity to meet with Tennessee Lady Vols head coach Karen Weekly. She gave some incredible advice, answered lots of questions from the team, and left both the parents and the girls inspired.

On the field, Dynamite battled tough competition plus brutal Oklahoma humidity, going 4–0 in pool play and punching their ticket to the top‑seed bracket. Their tournament run ended with a hard-fought 4-6 loss to the Hawks Gold from Michigan, finishing 5th place overall out of 42 teams from across the country.

But the real magic this weekend came in the form of team dinners, hotel bonding shenanigans, and the kind of peak girlhood experiences that become core memories. We're so proud of you, Dynamite! 🥎💥

Congratulations to our 2026 💫All Stars 💫who are representing Davis this summer in tournaments in the greater Sacramento area. 🧨. Last weekend showed what our Dynamite program is all about. When injuries left 14U Sindel short-handed on Saturday, 12U Nosek stepped up by providing pitching and catching help. That created openings for Nosek — and 12U Gosney answered the call, sending three players to help keep the team rolling through the weekend.

Willingness to support each other, compete together, and build friendships across teams is the heart of DYSA.

And the results followed:
🔥 14U Sindel finished 2-2 against strong competition in Modesto
🔥 12U Nosek battled to the championship and defeated the Bidwell Bombers in a walk-off win to capture the AST Slugfest Title
💪 Slugfest indeed, as the team crushed the ball all weekend, with inside-the-park home runs from Avery T, Grace N, Livia A, and our first 12u over-the-fence homer of the season, from Leah M. Congrats ladies!!

Proud of every player, coach, and family who showed what it means to be part of the Dynamite family.

DYSA is 🥰 thankfull 🥰for our 2026 Mark Breckner Coach of the Year– ✨Michelle Herrera✨! Michelle was the manager for our 8U Nightmare Hornets this spring and here are a few of the amazing things that nominators wrote about Michelle:
💜She is incredibly positive and uplifting with all the girls. It has been a pleasure seeing her coach. She steps in when she needs to and gives off very encouraging energy to them.
❤️She is patient, encouraging, and consistently positive, even when the girls are still learning or make mistakes.
🧡She teaches in a way that keeps the game fun while also helping the girls improve their skills and confidence.
💚One thing that stands out is how she makes every girl feel included and important, regardless of skill level.
🩶Our daughter has grown both as a player and in confidence because of Coach Michelle’s encouragement and leadership.
💖She also does a great job at bringing enjoyment and fun into every practice/game whether that’s through challenges or a new drill. She made the team feel like a family and created a fun loving positive atmosphere not just for the players but everyone involved.
