TOMRV A challenging bicycle ride on scenic back roads through midwester farmland and along the Mississippi river. 50 to 196 miles determined by rider

TOMRV is the Tour of the Mississippi River Valley, a Midwest cycling tradition now in its 45th year. Every year 900 or more bicycling enthusiasts come to ride the TOMRV tour. They enjoy a ride on scenic roads, through Midwest farmland, and along the Mississippi River. This year we will be riding an alternate route. The TOMRV team is working to provide you with a ride that will be enjoyable, and as

well-organized and supported as you have come to anticipate. We will gather in Bettendorf Iowa on Friday evening, June 10th, as usual, but this year we will meet at the Isle Hotel/Casino in Bettendorf. This is Iowa’s largest hotel on the banks of the Mississippi river. We will provide a packet pick-up experience in accordance with pandemic guidelines. Saturday morning, June 11, 2022 we will leave Bettendorf, with riders making their choice of a century route or one of 2 shorter routes. Both rides will return to the Isle hotel in Bettendorf on Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning, June 12th, we will leave the Isle hotel and return to the Isle hotel, but there will be 2 new routes. Again, one will be a century route and the others will be shorter routes. The routes will be varied and scenic, using paved roads. There will be views of the Mississippi River as we ride along it, over it on bridges, and find ourselves on some bluffs. This is TOMRV, a tradition of good riding, good scenery, challenging hills, good food, and an overall good time. So if this is for you, then plan to ride with us this year.

⭐ TOMRV 2026 — What. A. Weekend.

June 6–7, 2026

What an unforgettable second year with our new crew bringing this iconic 40+ year ride back to life. You all showed up with energy, grit, humor, and a whole lot of heart — and wow, did it make for a weekend to remember.

Saturday gave us sun, heat, humidity, and a whole lot of hydration stops. Riders fueled up on everything from classic bars and bananas to a full‑on charcuterie spread in Bellevue along the mighty Mississippi. Iowa hospitality never disappoints.

Check‑in? Easy‑peasy.
Dorm keys? Improved and smooth.
Bike storage? A total win.
And yes — riders were greeted with an icy‑cold Busch Light at valet bike check‑in, because TOMRV knows how to set the tone.

After settling into dorms, everyone kicked back for a night of rest before Sunday’s adventure.

And then… Sunday said, “Hold my beer.”

The rain Iowa desperately needed arrived — and arrived in full force. But our tiny‑yet‑mighty crew jumped into action, making sure riders were safe, supported, and moving forward. SAG drivers, volunteers, and riders worked together like a well‑oiled machine.

Despite the weather drama, the weekend brought:
• Minimal mechanicals — Iowa roads proving once again they’re smoother than Illinois
• No major injuries (unless you count one brave finger vs. a bagel cutter)
• Huge smiles, even in the downpour
• A whole lot of stories we’ll be laughing about for years

The photo album is public, so please share your pictures of your TOMRV adventure — the sunshine, the storms, the snacks, the climbs, the camaraderie.

A formal survey will be coming soon… but first, our crew needs a nap. A long one.

Thank you, riders and volunteers, for making TOMRV 2026 unforgettable.
You’re the reason this ride continues to thrive.

We are ready for the riders with dorm check in starting at 3pm today! Check in will be located just inside Beckman (AC dorm) where the baggage trucks are located. Follow the signs from the Fieldhouse (ride endpoint) where the secured bicycle lock up is located.

Announcement:

If you are staying in a dorm, you need to supply your own bedding, whether it's a sleeping bag, a sheet and a blanket pillow whatever you need since Covid colleges do not provide blankets for your snuggling enjoyment!

05/31/2026

One reminder with the dorms. Anyone staying in the dorms need to bring their own linens (or sleeping bag). Loras does not provide linens.
Thank you!

If you went to try and register between 1am last night and about 4pm today, there was a glitch in the system. I have resolved that and now the 2 day registration is back up and working.

Remember, there is a bump in fees as of 6-1-2026 for the 2 day riders.

And, the dorm reservations will close at noon CDT on 6-1; as I need to turn in the counts to the college by EOD 6-1.

Thank you!
