SUTTER WITH THE CLOSER‼️

Asa Sutter closes out his career in the maroon and white (or all black) with a 3rd place finish in the AHSAA State Decathlon!

Sutter wraps it all up as the 3rd best athlete in the State of Alabama. On his journey to 3rd overall, he broke his own Pole Vault School Record with a clearance of 10-00!

Asa Sutter leaves our program with some insane numbers that will certainly challenge future athletes for years to come.

Asa finishes his career holding SIX West Point Track & Field School Records:
Outdoor Triple Jump (46-2.25)
Outdoor Pole Vault (10-00)
Outdoor 4x400m Relay - 3rd Leg (3:26.66)
Indoor Triple Jump (42-6.5)
Indoor Long Jump (20-11)
Indoor High Jump (6-0)

Not to mention his recent State Championship victory in the Boy’s 5A 110m Hurdles!🥇

What an amazing body of work this young man put together over the course of his West Point Track & Field career! We love this kid dearly and thank him for his impact on our Track & Field Program. Track meets for the maroon and white will look a lot different without Asa Sutter wearing our uniform!

Congratulations Asa Sutter!!

OUR HISTORIC 4x400‼️

Pictured are the four young men who comprised the fastest 4x400m in Cullman County history: Brier Taylor, Ray McKenney, Asa Sutter, and Rush Lamar.

Their season best of 3:26.66 will stand for years to come. They wrapped up their stellar season with a 4th place finish at state running just off their season best at 3:27.63.

Brier Taylor closed his senior year in remarkable fashion with an official split of 48.92 from XpressTiming’s results!

Ray McKenney and Asa Sutter kept us within striking position for our anchor leg, Rush Lamar. Lamar passed 4 team’s anchor leg on his lap to jump from 8th place to 4th, barely missing the podium at 3rd!

We are so proud of these young men. All four have a bright future ahead in this sport and have made massive contributions to our program. Watching them run one last time was bittersweet. They gave us some amazing races and continually shocked us with just how fast they ran.

Thank you boys for giving us a 4x400m relay team that will never be forgotten!
