In youth softball, line drives win games.

Not towering fly balls.
Not wild swings.

Line drives mean:
• Proper launch angle
• Solid barrel path
• Good lower half drive

We train for repeatable mechanics.
Power comes naturally after that.

If you focus on mechanics first, the distance shows up later.

Try this at your next practice:

Pause at contact.

Have your athlete swing and freeze at contact position.

Check:
• Front leg firm
• Head down
• K**b to the ball
• Hands inside

If she can’t freeze in balance, she won’t hit in balance.

Simple drill. Huge difference.

When your athlete misses, what does she do next?

Head down
Shoulders slump
Rush back to the dugout

OR

✔️ Adjusts batting gloves
✔️ Takes a breath
✔️ Steps back in confident

Body language matters.

The best hitters reset quickly.

Teach composure. That skill lasts longer than a batting average.

• Stronger hand path
• Balanced finish

Confidence at the plate starts before the pitch is thrown.
