🏆 ALLSTAR SUMMER SLUGFEST 14U CHAMPIONS 🏆
Champions are crowned! The NJ Wolfpack Carolina 14U team completed a perfect 4-0 weekend to capture the Allstar Summer Slugfest Championship, finishing with back-to-back victories on Sunday after a dominant 2-0 Saturday.
Saturday began with a 7-4 win over Five Star Jersey Shore as Rocco DaBronzo earned the victory and Landon Shafer recorded the save. Jeffrey Iorio led the offense with 2 hits and 2 RBIs. The Wolfpack followed with a thrilling 2-1 win over Combat Select. Max Jardine struck out 7 over 3⅔ innings, Carter Bowen earned the win, while Justin Robinson delivered an RBI double and Noah Meany added a sacrifice fly.
The Wolfpack carried that momentum into Championship Sunday, defeating the FBA Jays 13-3 in the semifinals. Jeffrey Iorio started the game, pitching 2⅔ innings while allowing two earned runs and striking out one. Landon Shafer picked up the win with 1⅓ innings of relief and one strikeout. Offensively, Justin Robinson and Noah Meany each collected 2 hits as the Wolfpack pounded out 11 team hits.
In the championship game, the Wolfpack finished the job with an 8-4 victory over the Warehouse Yard Goats Purple. Landon Shafer delivered a championship performance, throwing 5 innings, striking out 6, and allowing just 2 earned runs to earn the win. Joey Vavrence closed out the final two innings in relief, while he and Carter Bowen each recorded 2 hits to lead an 8-hit offensive attack.
The Wolfpack outscored their opponents 30-12 over the four-game tournament, showcasing outstanding pitching, timely hitting, and contributions throughout the lineup on the way to a flawless 4-0 championship weekend.
