📣 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: HARPER M. 📣

Meet Harper M., one of our 11-year-old Varsity Cheer athletes!

Harper is in her third season with CBYAA, and her favorite thing about being part of the program is getting to spend time with her friends and her coach. Her favorite part of cheer is learning all the new cheers! 📣

Through CBYAA, Harper has grown in confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, making friends, and her cheer skills.

Cheer has always been Harper’s sport, but when she’s not cheering, she loves playing outside and practicing her cheers. She also has a twin sister, along with a younger and an older brother!

When Harper grows up, she wants to be a hair stylist. 💇‍♀️

We’re happy to have Harper back for another season with the Drifters!

Black Team came away with two wins today:

Black vs. Grey — 25-19
Black vs. Gold — 45-27

Great job to all three teams for coming out, competing hard, and giving us two exciting games!

🏈 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: DAVID CASH KOSSLER 🏈

Meet David Cash Kossler, one of our 11-year-old Gold Team football players!

Cash is in his third season with CBYAA, and one of the biggest things he loves about being part of the program is the friendships he’s made. His teammates have welcomed and encouraged him, and that sense of camaraderie means a lot to him.

His favorite part of football is simply being part of a team. Win or lose, Cash is the kind of player who cheers on his teammates and even the opponents he knows from school. He genuinely wants to see everyone succeed.

CBYAA has helped Cash grow in confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, making friends, football skills, leadership, discipline, trying new things, and becoming more comfortable being coached and accepting direction for improvement.

Before football, Cash was a dedicated baseball player, but now he proudly calls himself a football player and loves being out on the gridiron on the weekends. He also thinks it’s pretty special getting to play on the same field where his dad helps coach the high school team on Friday nights. 🏈

When he grows up, Cash says he wants to be a football player or a singer — maybe both, like the Savannah Bananas, but for football! 😄

His family also shared how much his CBYAA coaches have meant to him. Their encouragement has helped build his confidence, trust, and ability to take direction, and his teammates making him feel included has been a huge part of why he loves playing for CBYAA.

Meet Joseph Barron, one of our 12-year-old Grey Team football players!

This is Joseph’s second season with CBYAA, and his favorite thing about being part of CBYAA is being part of the team.

His favorite part of football is being on the field and showing off his talent, and he says CBYAA has helped him build his confidence.

A fun fact about Joseph — he’s very outspoken! 😄 His family also says Joseph can even impress himself sometimes with what he can do.

And he has some big goals for the future — Joseph wants to be the next great NFL player! 🏈

Meet Nariyah McDowney, one of our 9-year-old Varsity Cheer athletes!

Nariyah is in her third season with CBYAA, and cheering is her favorite part of being involved — she has a passion for it! Her favorite part of cheer is getting to be “loud and proud.” 📣

Through CBYAA, Nariyah has grown in confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, making friends, cheer skills, leadership, discipline, and trying new things.

When she grows up, Nariyah wants to be a nurse! 🩺

🏈 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: MADDOX B. 🏈

Meet Maddox B., one of our 8-year-old Grey Team football players!

This is Maddox’s second season with CBYAA, and his favorite thing about being part of CBYAA is simple — playing football!

His favorite part of the game is running fly routes, and he says CBYAA has helped him learn and improve his teamwork and sportsmanship.

When he’s not on the football field, Maddox enjoys riding his bike. 🚲

And when we asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he already has an answer — a firefighter! 🚒

Meet Asher B., one of our 9-year-old Grey Team football players!

This is Asher’s second season with CBYAA, and his favorite thing about being part of CBYAA is his team and how they treat him with respect.

His favorite part of football is being outside and running around, and he says CBYAA has helped him grow in confidence, sportsmanship, making friends, and his football skills.

Something fun about Asher outside of football: he plays guitar! 🎸

When we asked what he wants to be when he grows up, Asher said he doesn’t know yet — and that’s okay!
