What a day it was! The Cold Spring 15’s won the VFW State Championship on a walk off single by Brayden Holthaus to win 4-3 over the 16’s! This was truly a once in a lifetime game for the kids, families and fans to be apart of where two communities were talented enough to play in a game like this one! These kids were split by age not to create a divide in classes, but to develop as many young men as we could, and it was amazing it finished the way it did. Thank you to our community for the support! Our players couldn’t believe the full grandstand of support, and it gave the kids an experience they will never forget!

It’s a State Championship Game Day! Both Cold Spring teams have advanced through the bracket to play each other in the biggest game. Game time is set for 11:00 at Dick Putz Field. The 16’s would have to beat the 15’s twice, so a game two is possible. Either way, Cold Spring will have their 4th ever VFW State Champion today!

No matter the outcome, there will be a social at the Side Bar & Grill for all players, families, and fans after to celebrate these young men and their accomplishments.

Wouldn’t you know it, both Cold Spring teams made the VFW State Championship! The Cold Spring 15’s beat Elk River 2-0 to advance to the championship and is in the drivers seat. The Cold Spring 16’s won all three of their games today! Beating Rochester Mayo 3-1, Andover 6-2, and Elk River 12-2. No matter what, hardware is coming home to Cold Spring! An awesome feature for our community, our kids, and their families! The game(s) will start at 11:00 at Dick Putz Field. Last one out of town turn out the lights!

Another day of ball for the Cold Spring VFW teams! The Cold Spring 16’s won there matchup against New Prague 10-0 in 5 innings last night, and will play Rochester Mayo this morning at 10 o’clock at Joe Faber Field. The Cold Spring 15’s also won their game last night, beating Rochester Mayo 9-1! They will play Elk River today at 1 o’clock at Dick Putz.

After a few delays, we finally have some set game times for our VFW State Tournament games today. Our 16 year olds will play in an elimination game at 5:00 against New Prague at Joe Faber Field, and our 15 year olds will play Rochester Mayo in an winners bracket game at 7:30 at Dick Putz.

Thank you Jills Cafe, Richmond, MN for fueling up the boys for breakfast yesterday!

Rain is pushing our State Tournament games back for the day. Tentatively, the 16’s would be playing at 1:00 at Joe Faber Field, and the 15’s at 4:00 at Dick Putz.

Once the game times are officially announced, there will be an updated post.
