North Fork Anglers

North Fork Anglers Full service Certified Pro Fly Shop since 1984 located in Cody, WY under the neon leaping trout. We also have a select few waters with grayling and CA goldens.

North Fork Anglers is open year round and located in downtown Cody at 1107 Sheridan Ave. The shop offers classes, based on demand, for all things fly fishing. We are surrounded by miles of blue ribbon trout water containing rainbow, native WY cutthroat, brown, and brook trout.

CONDITIONS: Clear enough to fish… finally! Try using hopper patterns with jigged attractor nymphs below. I also wouldn’t hesitate to pull a streamer through some of the deeper runs.

FLIES: poxyback sow, yum-yum sow, Herford’s magic, Various worm patterns and colors, thin mints, Midges, BWO’s, Firebead sow, purple and pink lucent perdigon’s, black Spanish bullet, Ice cream cones, Sculpzilla, Rusty Tombone, Montana Mouthwash, Chubby Chernobyl, Trico’s, PMD’s, Caddis.

CONDITIONS: The flows on the Bighorn are steady and the fish are happy. Look for fish in the shallow riffles using hopper dropper rigs with zirdles, yuk bugs, worms, sows, and perdigons. We seeing heads up on trico’s and PMD’s in the mornings.

You may have seen the news about the recent flooding. While many of our rivers are experiencing challenging conditions, we’re still finding good water, and the fishing has remained fairly good.

Conditions may look a little different, but the fish are still there, and we’re continuing to have great days on the water.

This fishing is heating up and the majority of our water here in Cody, WY is open with the North Fork fully open by on July 1 + the shop is loaded with hot flies and fresh fishing supplies.

The North Fork has been fishing well this week, with solid action all the way up toward Pahaska.

Stonefly imitations and jigged attractors have been producing consistently, especially under nymph rigs.

Conditions should stay steady until warmer weather returns and flows begin to rise.

The river is currently closed to fishing from Gibbs Bridge to Newton Creek until July 1.
