🏁 A Little Late on This Race Recap! 🏁
Mom forgot to post about our last race a couple weeks ago! 😅 We’ve had a little time off between regional and club racing.
For the first time in my two years of racing, I experienced my first nose tip-up after my chain came loose. It scared me, but Mom was right there, along with some of the other race dads who jumped in to help get me and my car taken care of so I could get back on the track. Thank you
This day definitely didn’t go as planned. It was HOT for everyone — drivers, parents, handlers and crews. After some carnage during the heat race, Mom kept working hard to get my car fixed and ready for the feature. Unfortunately, during the feature, the heat got to me and I wasn’t able to finish.
Sometimes you can hydrate, prepare and take every precaution you can, but the heat can still become too much. At that point, safety comes before finishing a race. There was no fault to anyone — it was simply a very hot, tough day at the track for all of us.
Even while Mom and I were pushing through our own day, she was checking on some of the other race dads who have always helped us because the heat was getting to them too. That’s one thing I love about our racing family — we look out for each other. 🫶
This is racing. Some days you bring home trophies, and some days just making the safe decision and learning from the experience is the win.
Now we’re rested, ready and excited to get back behind the wheel September 13th at TQMA! 🏁
