For the past 17 years, we’ve had the privilege of training some incredible young men at Beyond the Barre. Watching them grow in strength, confidence, discipline, and artistry has been one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

From our very first Young Men’s Ballet class taught by David J Morse, to the years led by Jⓗⓐⓔⓛⓘⓝ ⓜⓒQⓤⓐⓨ, and now with Mr. Sawyer continuing that legacy, we’re proud to keep building a place where boys can thrive through dance.

Now, we’re excited to grow our Young Men’s Ballet Training Program even more.

Through our scholarship program, every boy can participate in tuition-free ballet training in a positive, supportive environment designed just for them.

✨ SEASON 17 BEGINS TOMORROW ✨

For 17 years, families have trusted Beyond the Barre with their dancers—and I never take that responsibility lightly.

At BtB, we believe that dance training should never be one-size-fits-all. We are a child-centered program, which means we care about the whole dancer—their goals, their confidence, their growth, and the person they are becoming.

Want to dance because you love it, make friends, and build confidence? There’s a place for you here.

Dream of pursuing ballet at the highest level or dancing professionally? There’s a path for you here, too.

Our job is to meet each dancer where they are, recognize their individual potential, and provide the training, opportunities, and support they need to reach their goals.

We believe excellent training and a positive, nurturing environment can—and should—exist together.

Tomorrow, we open our doors for Season 17, and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome our dancers back and meet the new families joining us this year.

We’re so excited to introduce Acro to our lineup of classes for Season 17!

Whether your child is learning their very first cartwheel or working toward aerials and handsprings, our progressive Acro program is designed to build strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and confidence in a safe, encouraging environment.

✨ Our Acro Classes:

🤸 Cartwheels & Roundoffs
Fridays | 4:00–4:45 PM
Ages 5 & Up
Perfect for beginners and dancers looking to master the fundamentals with proper technique and individualized instruction.

🤸 Walkovers
Fridays | 4:45–5:30 PM
Ages 5 & Up
Designed for students progressing toward front walkovers, back walkovers, and Valdez while continuing to build strength, flexibility, and body awareness.

🤸 BtB Acro Team
Fridays | 5:30–6:30 PM
Ages 8 & Up
For dedicated students ready to take the next step with aerials, handsprings, tumbling combinations, and advanced acro skills in a positive, team-focused environment.

⭐ Classes are taught by Arai Marino, whose patient, encouraging teaching style helps every student progress with confidence.

To ensure individualized instruction and safe skill development, enrollment is limited to just 10 students per class.

17 seasons 💙

Seventeen years ago, Beyond the Barre began with one pre-ballet class.

I never could have imagined where that one class would lead. What a blessing it has been to watch this studio grow into the community it is today. We’ve had the privilege of watching hundreds of dancers grow—not just in their technique, but in their confidence, character, and love for dance.

I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead. We have an incredible faculty, wonderful families, and another year full of opportunities for our dancers to learn, grow, and reach new goals.
