🏍️ 77 MORE MILES FOR KIDS' CANCER! 💜

Today's adventure to Hueston Woods and that beautiful covered bridge wasn't JUST me getting out on my bike and having some Shawnicorn shenanigans.

Those miles counted toward something pretty fu***ng important.

I'm riding in the Great Cycle Challenge this month to fight kids' cancer, and today I added another 77 MILES to my challenge! 🏍️💜

That brings me to:

🏍️ 246 of 600 miles ridden — 41% DONE!
🔥 5 rides so far
🏍️ 49-mile average per ride
💪 Today's 77 miles was my longest ride yet!
📍 Currently #21 in Ohio
🌎 #519 overall

I'm doing pretty damn good on the RIDING part. 😂

Now I need some help catching up on the fundraising side.

My goal is to raise $600 for kids' cancer — basically $1 for every mile I've committed to ride.

So far we've raised $114, which puts me at 19% of my fundraising goal.

If you're able to donate, even a few dollars gets me closer.

And if donating isn't in your budget right now, I completely fu***ng understand.

SHARING THIS POST HELPS TOO. 💜

More eyes on this = more chances of finding somebody who CAN donate.

I'm going to keep riding either way.

I've still got 354 miles left to hit my original 600-mile goal, and considering I'm only 5 rides in... there's a very real possibility I end up raising that mileage goal before this month is over. 😂

Especially with my Hocking Hills moto trip still coming up at the end of the month. 🏍️

So let's see how far these wheels can take us — AND how much we can raise for kids fighting cancer.

My Great Cycle Challenge link is attached to this post. You can follow my rides, see my progress, and donate directly through my challenge page.

246 DOWN.

354 TO GO.

LET'S FU***NG RIDE. 🏍️💜

Lots of new s**t is happening in Shawnicorn Land. 🦄🌈

I've been slowly updating, organizing, connecting, and building out all the different places where you can find me and my stuff. And since Facebook is still where I'm the most active, I figured I'd give y'all a little map of where everything lives now.

🌈 FACEBOOK IS HOME BASE.
This is where I'm most active. You'll find my regular posts, MindShift Moments, trauma recovery content, random thoughts, life updates, shenanigans, and whatever the hell else I'm up to.

🎥 YOUTUBE IS WHERE MY VIDEOS LIVE.
My videos are organized into playlists there, so if you're looking for something specific—or you want to go down a Shawnicorn rabbit hole 😂—it's much easier to find. I also have a couple of courses available there.

☕ KO-FI IS BECOMING THE HOME FOR MY RESOURCES.
There are already free resources and samples available, and this is where my digital products will live as I create them. Eventually there will be physical products there too, because yes, I have plans. 😂 But I'm building this s**t one thing at a time.

You can also support the work I'm doing through Ko-fi if you'd like to. There's absolutely no pressure to do that. Following, commenting, sharing my stuff, watching my videos, using my free resources, and telling somebody else about me all support what I'm building too.

🦄 AND MY WEBSITE TIES EVERYTHING TOGETHER.
You can learn more about me and Shawnicorn MindShift Coaching, find ways to contact me, and get connected to everything else from there.

And you don't have to hunt for any of this s**t.

Go to my bio right here on Facebook. My website, YouTube, and Ko-fi are all linked there. I've been working on connecting everything across my different platforms too, so wherever you find me, you should be able to find your way to the rest.

A lot is changing. A lot is growing. And I'm figuring it out as I go instead of waiting until everything is fu***ng perfect before I let anybody see it.

So, welcome to the ever-expanding Shawnicorn universe. 🦄🌈

Follow along wherever you like. Use the free s**t. Watch the videos. Share something that helps you. Support me financially if you want and you're able.

I'm just glad you're here. 💜

Coming Back to Me: Make the Plans Anyway 🏍️💜

Some plans don't go exactly the way you pictured them.

And that's okay.

Today I made plans with myself.

I packed myself a lunch, got on my bike, and headed out to Hueston Woods because I wanted to ride, put some more miles toward my Great Cycle Challenge, and most importantly...

I wanted to ride through the covered bridge. 😂

I fu***ng LOVE covered bridges.

I love taking pictures of them, getting video of them, riding through them... there's just something about them that makes me happy.

So that was the destination.

Did the rest of my little adventure go exactly as planned?

Absolutely fu***ng not. 😂

I had envisioned finding a nice shady spot, sitting down, eating my packed lunch, hanging out for a while and enjoying the park.

Instead, I couldn't find a shady spot that felt right, I was getting overheated, I was a little overwhelmed, and eventually I decided I was done.

The sandwiches came home with me. 😂

But here's the thing:

The picnic wasn't really the point.

The RIDE was.

I wanted to get back on my bike after being off of it for about a week because of the heat and rain.

I wanted to put miles toward my challenge.

I wanted to go see that covered bridge.

And I did all three.

I rode almost 80 miles today.

I rode through that bridge a couple times because I wanted some good footage.

And I spent a couple hours doing something I fu***ng love.

Mission accomplished. 🏍️💜

I've also realized something over the last few days.

I've been letting other people's plans—or lack of plans—have way too much influence over mine.

Not intentionally.

And this isn't about blaming anybody.

People have their own lives. Sometimes they can come. Sometimes they can't. Sometimes plans change.

But I've noticed that I've been waiting to see what other people are doing before deciding what I'M doing.

Then if those plans fall through, I'm left trying to figure out what the f**k I'm doing with my day.

So today I did something different.

I made plans with myself.

Other people were welcome to come along, but whether they did or not wasn't going to determine whether I went.

And I went.

I do want people in my life. I enjoy doing things with other people.

But I can want companionship without putting my life on hold waiting for somebody else to be available.

That's the shift.

Make the plans.

Invite people if you want to.

And if they come? F**k yeah.

If they don't?

Go have your adventure anyway.

It might not look exactly like you pictured it.

You might even bring your entire fu***ng picnic back home. 😂

But you still get to live your life.

Today I wanted a motorcycle ride and a covered bridge.

I got a motorcycle ride and a covered bridge.

Everything else was extra. 💜

Make good choices, Misfits.
I love you. 🦄🏍️💜

Coming Back to Me: Some Days Just Be Like That 💜

Today has been... weird.

Not bad, exactly.

Just blah.

I've been indecisive as f**k. I've had very little motivation. I've made plans, changed plans, driven places, decided I didn't want to be there once I got there, and generally haven't known what the f**k I wanted to do with myself today.

And some days just be like that.

I was supposed to meet up with my Litas ladies at High Grain today, but I decided last night not to go.

Not because I didn't WANT to go.

Because I know I would've spent money, and right now I'm trying really fu***ng hard to hold onto what I have so I have money for our Hocking Hills trip at the end of the month.

If it isn't free or ridiculously cheap right now, I probably can't do it.

That's where I'm at.

And that's okay.

Then there was Ales & Tails in Hamilton.

I'd been debating going for about a week. I didn't particularly want to go alone, but eventually I decided, f**k it, I'll go anyway.

I drove all the way there...

and drove right fu***ng past it. 😂

Once I got there, I just didn't want to go.

Okay.

I'm allowed to change my mind.

Before that, I attempted Operation Find the F**king Dress.

First I went to the WRONG storage facility. 😂

Eventually I found mine, opened the door and immediately remembered just how fu***ng overwhelming that storage unit is.

There is SO MUCH S**T in there, and I don't know where anything is.

I stood there for a minute and realized:

Nope.

I do not have the capacity for this today.

So I closed the door.

The dress hunt will happen another day.

Then I realized I really needed groceries.

Part of me wanted to just grab fast food because it was easier, but spending around $20 at Aldi for food that will feed me multiple times made a hell of a lot more sense than spending half of that on one meal.

So I went inside and did the thing.

When I came back out, there was a busker playing Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box."

Well...

If that isn't an invitation to look for heart rocks. 😂💜

Looking for hearts is one of those little things that brings me joy, so I wandered around the rocks for a while.

And I found one.

Just one.

And one was enough.

Maybe the song was completely coincidental.

Maybe I just needed a little nudge to stop and find some Magick in a blah fu***ng day.

Either way, I took it.

I stopped.
I looked.
I found a heart. 💜

Then I came home, put away my groceries, helped my neighbor by moving my Jeep so a tow truck could maneuver her truck into her lot, and finally realized something else:

Hey, friend.

You ate breakfast today.

That's it.

And it's almost 6 p.m.

You need some food in your body. That could absolutely be part of why you don't feel good.

So I made the easiest thing I could think of.

Toast.
Avocado.
Bacon bits.
Everything bagel seasoning.

Fed is more important than fancy.

I wondered if maybe that was the answer.

And it helped.

I ate dinner later, too.

But here I am a few hours later, and honestly?

I still feel off.

Better than I did earlier, but still blah.

And that's okay too.

There isn't always a neat little ending where we eat some avocado toast and suddenly everything makes sense. 😂

Sometimes we check in with ourselves, take care of the needs we CAN identify, and still don't feel quite like ourselves.

That doesn't mean we did self-care wrong.

I don't need to figure out WHY I'm off tonight.

Maybe I'll understand it tomorrow.
Maybe I won't.

What I can do is keep taking care of myself while I'm here.

Today I protected my budget.
I listened when I didn't want to go somewhere.
I recognized when the storage unit was too much.
I bought groceries.
I found a little Magick in an Aldi parking lot.
I helped my neighbor.
I fed myself.

And now I can let today be what it was.

A weird, blah Saturday.

That's enough.

Sometimes Coming Back to Me isn't about finding my way all the way back in one fu***ng day.

Sometimes it's noticing that I feel off and giving myself grace while I'm there.

Some days just be like that.

Find the little bits of Magick where you can.
Feed the human.
Take care of you.

And tomorrow?

We'll see. 💜

Make good choices, Misfits.
I love you. 🦄💜
