The Nitro Monkey is a family owned injected nitromethane front engine nostalgia dragster racing team based out of Choctaw, Oklahoma. The co-owner/ Team Chief Rick Taylor,is retired from the USAF and fulfilling a lifelong dream of being a team owner. Rick's wife (and co-owner), Jennifer, is head of Media Relations/Hospitality. I recently had a conversation with a young man I’d say about 20 years old.
He was asking about the engine in the car….here is the conversation.
HIM; so what engine does it have?
ME; it’s a SBC
HIM; oh so it’s a 454
ME; stares blankly at him for 10 seconds
before finally saying “no” and
ending the conversation.
