Lizbeth Garcia and Will Martin – local legends and long time Strider coaches.

In addition to practices, we have a full calendar of local events lined up throughout the season which Striders get discounted entries to.

The 2026 Beat the Coach Mile is in the books. Juan Lugo, Patrick Madson, Julie Plummer and Julia Baldwin took home the infamous Beat the Coach Mile “Hammer”—a trophy that represents putting in the work all summer and being ready to HAMMER the Cross Country season!

But the best part? This race is about more than beating a coach. It’s about watching our Striders grow, stick with the sport, and eventually become faster than the coaches who have been chasing them around all these years.

We get older. They get faster. And we LOVE being beaten! ❤️

Strider Cross Country Registration is OPEN! 🎉

Our Elementary School Cross Country season kicks off September 14, and we’re ready for a season filled with trails, adventures, races, friendships, and FUN!

Elementary School Aged Practices:
📅 Mondays | 6:00–7:00 PM
📅 Thursdays | 5:30–6:30 PM

This season, we’ll be hitting up Chico’s many parks and trails as our Striders build confidence, grow as runners, and discover the fun of Cross Country.
