Sign up for tryouts by June 5th!

Tryouts will be held on June 26 and 27 (only need to attend 1 day) and are open to both returning and new Cherokee Tumbling athletes who will be 5 or older on Dec 31st 2026. Tryouts will consist of a parent/athlete meeting, a workout and evaluation.

More detailed information will be given in the parent meeting that is held during team tryouts. Throughout the year, team practices twice per week and attends 5-6 competitions. These competitions take place all over the state of Iowa, and athletes have the potential to qualify for a national competition at the end of the season.

At competitions, groups are separated by gender, age, and level. Because of this, there is no official minimum skill level required to be on the competition team. How well an athlete listens, takes direction, and shows potential for fast-paced growth are big deciding factors on who gets invited to join after tryouts.

If your child is interested in making the commitment, I encourage you to have them tryout! There will be a lot of information presented in the parent meeting and there is no obligation to accept the offer to join should they be invited to join the competition team.

The 2026 Spring Show celebrated 10 years of Cherokee Tumbling! It was divided into 12 performances spread over 3 days and 2 locations. We awarded 5 Year Awards to 28 athletes and the first 10 Year Awards to 6 athletes.

I’ve been at a loss for words on how to wrap up the 2025-2026 session. For those that know my personality well, you know I do not like things that don’t go according to plan and I do not like asking for help. On the Wednesday before the Spring Show, baby girl decided the stress of the upcoming weekend was just too much, and it was safer for her to make an earlier entrance.

While I was initially worried about the Spring Show prep, so many people RALLIED Wednesday night through Friday! Coaches covered the last two nights of classes; my aunt, mother in law and mom kept my boys; team parents and friends set up the gym and got everything cleaned; and my husband went back and forth between the hospital and the gym (with me on FaceTime) to make sure equipment was set up and to my approval.

I originally thought I could make it back for the Spring Show on Friday night, but again, baby girl had other plans and we ended up with a transfer to the NICU for 10 days due to Rh incompatibility. Coming to terms with missing the 10th anniversary of Cherokee Tumbling was heartbreaking but watching the athletes, coaches and Cherokee Tumbling families come together and deliver the best Spring Show to date quickly turned my heartbreak into pride, gratitude and joy!

The 2026 Spring Show was a HUGE SUCCESS! I cannot thank my family, friends, coaches, athletes and volunteers enough for stepping in, stepping up, and making the whole event go off without a hitch! What a huge milestone 10 years is and I can’t wait to see what next year will bring!

⭐️Summer Registration Update⭐️

I’ve had to take a brief hiatus from my email, messages, phone calls, etc, and today am slowly starting to get back to them. I do apologize for the delay and know each of you deserve a timely response which is why I’ll be addressing them in the order they were received. Thank for for your patience!

Because of this delay on my end, I am slightly altering the summer tuition payment schedule: the first half of summer tuition will now be due May 25th!

This should allow me to get caught up on replies and registration requests and get the summer welcome email out to everyone registered.

Looking forward to classes beginning in June!
