Cheboygan Area Arts Council Dance Program The Cheboygan Area Arts Council (CAAC) has offered quality dance instruction at the historic Opera House since 1986.

Students may enroll in fun & enriching classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and musical theater.

🩰 CAAC DANCE SHOE SWAP 🩰

Do you have gently used dance shoes that are looking for a new home? Consider donating to CAAC Dance! We utilize shoes in the styles pictured here.

We will have shoes available to browse during our Dance Orientation tomorrow evening, September 10, 5-7pm at the Cheboygan Opera House.

If you are able to donate before the Orientation, you can do so through one of the following ways:
✨ drop shoes off at the Opera House (main doors) during Box Office hours today (Wednesday) or Thursday, 12-4pm
✨ drop shoes off just before Orientation on the Opera House stage (Thursday, 4:45-5pm)
✨ arrange to meet with a Dance Advisory Committee member if you know them personally: Kara D'Andrea, Becky Miller, Makaela Willis, Savannah Barthelemy, Owen Goslin, Katie Mallory, Alicia Powers, Jessica Schley, Jennifer Ostwald, Carole Yeck

Can't donate before Orientation? No problem! Little feet grow fast! We make our Previously Loved Shoe Bin available all year long and will gladly accept donations throughout the year.

💃 Join us this Thursday! 💃

We'd like to welcome new and returning families to our Dance Orientation on September 10 from 5-7pm at the Cheboygan Opera House. Use the "City Hall" doors and make your way upstairs.

At this open house orientation, you will be able to meet with instructors and members of our CAAC Dance Advisory Committee, view the dance studios (changes have been made this summer!), ask questions about the program, browse available dance shoes, enjoy light refreshments, learn about this year's theme, and meet fellow dance students!

At 5:30pm and again at 6:30pm there will be a brief information session about the dance program in the auditorium.

Our Fall Session dance classes begin on September 14.

CAAC Dance Fall classes are now available to all students for registration! Our Fall Session runs September 14 - December 18, with a Holiday Showcase performance on December 12.

📍 Dance classes take place in the Cheboygan Opera House dance studios (enter via the City Hall doors).

🐙 UPDATED CAMP! 🐠

🦈 Our Under the Sea camp has proven to be so popular with our little dancing fish that we've decided to add one more before the end of summer!

🪸 Ages 3-6 are welcome at our final camp of the summer season. Journey into the deep sea during this magical underwater adventure. Make a splash during our Under the Sea Dance Camp, where dancers will discover creative activities, storytime, snacks, games, & sea-themed fun.

🧜‍♀️ Your child will dance like mermaids, sharks, & sea creatures while building coordination & imagination along the way! Throughout the camp experience, dancers will build confidence, creativity, & expressive movement skills in an engaging & age-appropriate environment.
