Congratulations to Paul Kolodziej - the big winner at the second annual Fish & Game Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament! Paul, a last-minute entry, outlasted runner up Jeff Kaplan and finalists Bob Franks, Jon Morgan, Duane Lapus, Todd Mansfield, and last year’s champ Craig Harrison. Paul started out a bit handcuffed by a table of beginners who initially had some momentum. But, Paul’s luck mysteriously changed around 10 pm after his wife Erica showed up with special pizza for him. He then quickly shut down those pesky beginners and moved on to play with the big boys, where that huge stack of chips never faltered (except when the table almost collapsed). Good times! Congratulations to Paul and the other finalists! ♥️ ♦️ ♣️ ♠️

A bit of a sad, coming of age tale about a girl growing up in the late 40s and 50s in small town Colorado. Amazon aptly describes it as: A tragic and uplifting novel of love and loss, family and survival—and hope.

The Book Club gives Go as a River a 4.4 out of 5. We all agreed that the book was incredibly well-written and while some of us thought the story meandered like a lazy river at times, the author managed to keep the reader engaged throughout. It certainly gave us a LOT to talk about!

Next up: Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. Meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 28th. Social 7-7:30 and discussion starts at 7:30. Email Anna Geppel to join our distribution list ([email protected]).

What better way to spend a winter Sunday than watching the NFL playoffs and eating copious amounts of chili with friends?!

Live at Fish & Game is kicking off the new year with a solo acoustic performance by local favorite Geoff Doubleday on Friday, January 19th from 8-11 pm following the much-anticipated pairing announcements for the 2024 Men’s Intraclub Tournament.

No charge for members and their guests but please register online or on the app.

Geoff covers modern and classic rock,folk and bluegrass and brings an incredible energy to his performances. His sound combines the finesse of a professional with fun and creativity of your favorite bar band.

Calling all competitors! We want to see your culinary skills this time! Register now to compete in our Chili Cook Off being hosted on Sunday, January 28th at 5 pm. As if you needed another excuse to come down to the club for the NFL Conference Championships!

Get an early start on 2024 with a kids (and adults?) dance party complete with a “midnight” (6:00 pm) countdown into the New Year.

The $30 per family will include pizza, sparkling and regular juice, décor, and favors for a rocking time. Guests are welcome just register and pay for them as well. Feel free to swing by, leave early, get fancy, wear PJs, etc since it’s a casual event, but the ball drop will be at 6:00pm!
