Mikes Concealed Carry Classes

This 16-hour Concealed Carry License (ICCL) training on May 9th & 16th (2026) in Jacksonville IL provides the required training for Illinois permit applicants. Led by a veteran instructor (35+ years law enforcement), it accommodates all skill levels, requires no prior FOID/firearm, and includes necessary legal/safety training. A 3-hour renewal will be available the afternoon on the 16th.
Course Highlights:
• Dates: May 9th & 16th (16 hours total). (830-5 pm)
• Renewal: 3-hour option available for existing, expiring licenses.
• Requirements: No FOID or firearm needed for the full course; training gear can be provided.
• Instructors: Certified fi****ms instructor with 35 years in law enforcement.
• Content: Comprehensive 16-hour ISP approved curriculum fulfilling state requirements, including classroom education on fi****ms safety, legal use of force, and live-fire range qualification.
• Credits: Veterans may receive 8 hours of credit (must provide DD214). Other prior training may grant 4 hours of credit.
• Registration: Early registration is recommended to secure a spot.

Registration is now open for this all LADIES class. ( yes I even have a pink gun) Come join us for this 16 hour course that is required to apply for your concealed carry license. This course is designed for those who may have never handled a firearm before to the more experienced person. Even if you are not sure that you want to carry a firearm you will obtain knowledge and experience taking this course . You will acquire a knowledge on different types of guns, how they work, how to load, how to handle & how to properly store them that is especially important if you have guns in your home plus so much more.
I will use my 36 years in LE to explain what the law says and go into details about using deadly force and what is considered justified.
Upon successful completion you will be issued a certificate .
If you are a Veteran you would only need to complete the last 8 hours on Nov 1.
I also have gift certificates available for any future classes that would make a nice Christmas present.
Class is hosted by Sangamon County Sheriff, Paula Crouch.

Do you want to know more about Fi****ms, types of handguns & how they work?
Do you have Fi****ms in your home?
Do you want to know what the LAW says about "use of force" even deadly force to protect yourself, your dwelling, other property?
Do you want to know about different types of Ammunition?
Do you want to know what gun owners are responsible for?
Do you want to know how you can safely store guns, especially if you have children in your home?
Do you want to know how to properly handle a firearm?
Do you want to carry a loaded handgun in your vehicle or on your person then you MUST complete a class before applying for a Concealed Carry Permit.

All of these questions and many more will be covered in my upcoming Mikes Concealed Carry Class that is being scheduled in Jacksonville on Aug 10th and 17th. My class curriculum has been approved by ISP .

I have over 33 years in LE and my goal is to help anyone who has a desire to be a more safe and confident handler of a firearm.

If you just need the 3 hour refresher class to renew your current certificate this will also be a part of class during afternoon session on Aug 17th
Veteran's all you will need to complete is the the 8 hours on Aug 17th
I would recommend that even you may may not have a desire to apply for your CCL at this time but would like to know more about fi****ms then you should come join us. It is an informal class that is designed for those who have never handled a firearm before or those experienced as well. You do not need a FOID card to take this class!
Class size is limited so if interested contact me so I can maybe answer any questions you may have and to get you registered.
