✨ MEET THE INSTRUCTOR — Miss. MADELINE ✨

Miss. Madeline proudly grew up training at Spotlight Dance & Acrobatics, where she developed her love for dance, strengthened her technique, and experienced firsthand the lifelong lessons that come from being part of the studio. After years as a Spotlight dancer, she is excited to return as an instructor and share that same passion with the next generation. 💜

Madeline believes dance is about so much more than choreography. She strives to create a positive and encouraging environment where dancers can build confidence, express their creativity, form meaningful friendships, and reach their full potential.

Having been shaped by the supportive community at Spotlight herself, Madeline is grateful for the opportunity to give back to the studio that played such an important role in her life and hopes to inspire the same love of dance, dedication, confidence, and joy in each of her students. ✨

✨ MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: BROOKE CASDORPH ✨

Meet Ms. Brooke, instructor and choreographer at Spotlight Dance & Acrobatics! 💜

Brooke began dancing at just 3 years old and grew up training and competing in a wide variety of styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, pointe, musical theatre, and acrobatics/tumbling.

Throughout her dance career, Brooke has had the opportunity to train with renowned teachers and choreographers including Abby Lee Miller, Travis & Denise Wall, Molly Long, Alexa Moffett, Stacey Tookey, and Anthony Morigerato. ✨

Brooke began teaching in 2016 and has worked with dancers of all ages. She especially loves teaching tap and helping her students grow in their technique, confidence, creativity, and love for dance. 🩰💜

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR: EMILY HANNA 🩰

Ms. Emily began dancing at just 3 years old and has an extensive background in classical ballet. She trained with the American Academy of Ballet before being invited to join the Charleston Ballet, where she performed for several seasons.

Emily later continued her pre-professional training with the prestigious Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under Marcia Dale Weary. ✨ Her performance credits include Paquita, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and Les Sylphides.

Throughout her training, Emily attended numerous ballet intensives and had the opportunity to study under renowned instructors including David Howard, Oleg Briansky, Katrina Killian, Olga Dvorovenko, Serge LaVoie, and Miguel Campaneria.

Outside the studio, Emily holds a BS in Government from Campbell University and an MPAP from American University. She is also a certified Lagree Fitness instructor and volunteers as a choreographer for the United Way of Central WV’s annual Dancing with the Stars fundraiser.

We are so excited for our dancers to learn from Ms. Emily and the incredible ballet knowledge and experience she brings to Spotlight! 💜🩰✨

💜MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS💜
Mekenzi Brooks — Owner, Instructor & Choreographer

Mekenzi attended West Virginia University on a dance scholarship, earning her bachelor’s degrees in Dance and Business with a focus in Finance. During her time at WVU, she performed and choreographed with the Collegiate Dancers, further developing her experience in performance, choreography, and dance education.

Mekenzi also teaches BodyBarre fitness classes, allowing her to combine her love of movement, strength, and fitness. BodyBarre gives Mekenzi another avenue to challenge herself physically while continuing to stay strong, fit, and conditioned for the demands of her career.

Today, Mekenzi helps lead Spotlight while teaching and choreographing across multiple styles. She is especially passionate about contemporary movement, creative storytelling, and developing dancers both technically and artistically.

We are SO overjoyed with how many of our classes for this age group have already filled up! 💜✨ We absolutely love seeing so many little dancers excited to learn and grow with us!

Due to the amazing response, we’ve added TWO additional combo classes for ages 3–6 that still have availability! 🩰🤸‍♀️✨

These classes include Ballet, Acro & Jazz and are perfect whether you’re newly registering or already enrolled and would love for your child to take multiple classes throughout the year for extra training!

💜 MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS 💜

First up, meet Morgan McNabb, one of the owners and directors of Spotlight Dance & Acrobatics! ✨

Morgan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from West Virginia University, where she was also a member of the WVU Dance Team and WVU Dance program. Her dance career has given her the opportunity to train and work beyond the studio, including working for National Dance Alliance and receiving a scholarship to study with Gus Giordano Dance School during the summer.

Morgan has continued to share her passion for dance throughout our community. She has served as a nutrition and fitness coach for the WVU Dance Team, volunteered as a choreographer for West Virginia’s Dancing With The Stars, and serves as the head coach of the Charleston Catholic Dance Team and is one of the only Acrobatic Arts certified teacher in the Kanawha valley!

Today, Morgan pours her experience and education into the dancers at Spotlight, helping them grow not only as strong, versatile dancers, but as confident young people. 💜
