Principal among these are #8 Streetcar Path (that links Edmondson to Frederick between Opie's and Matthew's 1600) and the old Short Line route which once linked Catonsville by commuter and freight train to downtown Baltimore v

ia a short spur near the present day St. A few dedicated volunteers formed Catonsville Rails To Trails (CRTT) in 1999 with the goal of converting all of Catonsville's old rail lines into bike/hike trails. Since that time, CRTT has expanded our mission to creating safe pedestrian and bike friendly walkways throughout the Catonsville area.

New in 2026, we are introducing our TRAILBLAZER program.

This program offers the opportunity to promote your business or organization while directly supporting trails and your community. Each Trailblazer will be designated a section of the Catonsville Short Line Trail or #8 Streetcar Path where custom Trailblazer signs will be displayed promoting your business.

CRTT is excited to share some information on behalf of Catonsville: She Runs this Town! We hope you can join Thurs Thursday June 18th for a community run - The Triple Crown Ice Cream Series!

Chill out during summer vacation. Enjoy a run or walk around the 'Ville with SRTT Catonsville! Ice cream awaits at Babas when you're finished! Bring the whole family to part 1 of this tasty 3 part summer series on Thursday, June 18th. Meet at 5:45. Run/walk leaves promptly at 6. BYOI (Buy Your Own Ice Cream ). 1 mile and 3-mile route options will be provided.

(Note: Babas closes at 7 so this event will start earlier than other two Triple Crown Runs in July and August so you can plan for Pizza AND/OR Ice Cream after the run if you like)

Be sure to document your participation with a photo because members who attend their ice cream runs/walks will be included in the running of the Triple Crown Drawing at the conclusion of the summer. One winner will win a gift certificate for more icy sweet Cville treats.

Can't wait to run for ice cream with you all!

We are just over a week away from CRTT's longest ride of the summer!

Mill to Mill - Saturday June 20th! Meet at Old Mill Cafe, wheels down at 8:00 am.

This approximately 30-mile round trip rolls down to Savage Mill for coffee along the Little Patuxent River and includes a mix of roads and trails with some climbing and traffic. Riders should be comfortable riding on roads, paved trails, and packed dirt surfaces.

Hop on your bike and join us for the 15th Annual Bike Ride to Fort McHenry - it's going to be a wheelie good time!

What better way to celebrate Independence Day than with an early morning bike ride to Fort McHenry on a guided bike ride with over 250+ of your fellow Catonsville residents. Don’t forget to wear festive holiday wear and decorate your bike.

Join us at 8 a.m. for registration and refreshments. The ride begins promptly at 8:30 a.m.

This is a casual ride at approximately 10-12 mph. Helmets should be worn. Parents should consider the distance and conditions of the ride to determine if the ride is age-appropriate for their child’s endurance and strength. No one is left behind. The bike ride is free, but a $10 suggested donation is appreciated.

Will we see you TONIGHT for First Fridays at 5:30 PM, followed by Frederick Rd Fridays featuring The Reagan Years!?

Meet at the Mellor Connection Trailhead on Bloomsbury Avenue across from Dirt Rooster. This will be a casual pace, family-friendly ride. If some of your crew are not yet biking, join the family walk-along to stroll the trail while the bikers roll. If you plan to head into the concert area after the ride, bring a bike lock.

Happy June!!! It looks like the weather will be cooperating for some great riding conditions ahead!

We have our First Friday Ride this Friday, June 5 at 5:30 PM, meeting at the Mellor Connection Trailhead on Bloomsbury Avenue across from Dirt Rooster. This will be a casual pace, family-friendly ride, and we should be back in time for the kickoff of Frederick Road Fridays. If some of your crew are not yet biking, join the family walk-along to stroll the trail while the bikers roll.

This year’s Frederick Road Fridays opener features The Reagan Years, so plan to stick around after the ride and enjoy the music, food, and fun. If you plan to head into the concert area after the ride, bring a bike lock.

We’ll also be at the 5th Annual Catonsville Pride on June 13 from 1–5 PM, with a CRTT table at The Children’s Home (205 Bloomsbury Ave). Stop by and say hello if you’re attending!

And finally, don’t miss our June Ride, our longest ride of the year, the Mill to Mill Summer Ride on Saturday, June 20.
