Week 4 and we are out of the arena. We are also no longer lounging before we ride (except Mondays!). I am very pleased with how she is progressing. She’s a very brave girl and wants to please. She’s understanding that we go to work everyday and are expected to behave a certain way. Even when the wind picked up mid ride, she was just fine.

Dropping by Sapphire Health and Wellness always feels more like hanging out with friends than going to an appointment.

I’ve never bought into the idea that being a horse girl means giving up on self-care. Between the dust, sun, and long barn days, taking care of my skin and health is a huge priority for me—whether that’s Tox, facials, quality skincare, or wellness injections.

Tawnya gets it. Being a horse girl herself, she completely understands the toll barn life takes on your skin while fully supporting wanting to look and feel your best.

Jupiter has had a sore back this week. We always try our best to keep our lesson horses feeling their absolute best.

Thank you to Tristan of Double Spur Equine Services LLC for coming to the rescue. This guy fully enjoyed his session and we are hoping he’s back to feeling himself on Monday. ❤️

Week 3 and we are finally loping!

I know a lot of people might have loped right away but I did not feel I had the tools nor did she have the confidence to lope until now.

Waiting definitely paid off. We both needed that first lope session to be successful and it was!

On her right lead, she loped beautifully.

Her left still needs a lot of work.

Now to fix the shoulder and the left lead. ❤️

Last week these two attended the Wyoming State 4H horse show and showed their butts off!

State was a very different competition than county. Lots of exceptional horse and rider teams but these two held their own.

Olive braved the showmanship with a very naughty pony. She didn’t end up in the ribbons but she didn’t come in last either. She new her job and didn’t best she could an it paid off. I was super proud of her for trying anyway. The Sam was true for wester pleasure. This pony is obviously not a pleasure horse but Olive did it anyway and did great! She got her leads, which is something we had been working hard on, and smiled the whole time. She placed 3rd in Western Horsemanship which was out of this world exciting! This was a big class too! She finished out her state competition placing 7th in the barrels. Incredible for this tiny duo. The thing about this pair we have to consider is that olive’s pony is way too small for an adult to get on. She has literally done ALL OF THE WORK. A couple months ago she could hardly lope this pony, let alone get the right lead. Now she’s competing at state. I am beyond proud of her. ❤️

Weston knocked it out of the park. The competition at his level was much tighter. With a huge class of competitors he still placed 3rd in showmanship, 4th in Western Horsemanship, 3rd in ranch riding (his first ever ranch riding pattern btw) 4th in trail and 7th in barrels. His ability to adapt and always had a great attitude is inspiring.

I am so proud of these two and the hard work they’ve put in.
