Bobby.

Not in a main lesson string but for an advanced student, she’s fantastic.

Bobby is a 3 year old mare who moves nice and tries hard. She’s kind but due to her age, we don’t call her reliable, yet. She’s fantastic for advanced students who are trying to learn to balance a horse as well as work through some problems.

She requires a bit more work from her rider which pushes them to be better.

So much preparation went into this moment.

Marg has spent a lot of time learning how to keep her core soft, her hands quiet, and her seat in the saddle.

Dutch was the perfect first horse for her to ride the lope on. He’s smooth, balanced, slow and easy. His lope is like a rocking horse.

Having a horse who is balanced and steady, helps students to not build bad habits. Marg was able to ride his lope and feel what it is supposed to feel like. No diving, no rushing into the lope, no speeding up or slowing down. This makes learning the lope do much easier and builds confidence in the rider.

Thank you so much to Kellie for letting Marg use your special boy. They make such a great team ❤️

“Fancy don’t play”

The cows were out in the arena and fancy had the job of putting them away.

This is with 3 months of training with Kelly Matt Cowhorses.

Fancy has so much potential and Matt really has a way of drawing it out of them.

Look at the use of those hocks! We are so thrilled. When he sent me this video I got all teared up. Knowing her story, just makes this all so much more special. ❤️

A been there done that kinda gal with stunning looks.

Unfortunately, this beauty queen struggles with navicular disease so she is currently walk only lessons and lead line lessons. Both she excels at helping her rider feel confident. Shes trustworthy and dependable and we adore her maternal instincts, taking great care of her rider.

Are we barrel racers?

No.

But this is an easy pattern to the kids to remember. It focuses on forward motion in the turn, straight lines and looking ahead. It’s a fantastic exercise for students to understand the importance of all 3.
