Shippy Ranch salutes the heroes who gave their lives defending the freedoms often taken for granted. Because of their sacrifice, this country still stands strong, proud, and free.

Today we fly the flag a little higher.

A deed says a man owns the land the land has never agreed.
Ownership is a transaction. One is signed in ink. The other is paid in seasons — fences mended before they fail, water tended before it runs short, grass rested before it's gone, fires watched before they spread.
Twenty-four thousand acres beneath the Capitan Mountains. Springs that have run since before the first fence line. Elk that have walked these canyons for generations no one alive remembers.
The land was here before us. It will be here after.
The only question is what condition we leave it in.
We don't measure what we have, we measure what we owe.
To the springs. To the elk. To the canyons.
And to the children who will walk this country in fifty years and find it whole — because someone before them refused to be careless.
That is the standard.
That is the West we want to be worthy of.
