We run many state championships and larger races throughout the country.

Attention Racers:

Due to the additional tracks provided this year at Lucky Bob's, pit spaces upstairs will be reserved as a priority for racers with disabilities and event staff. If these spaces are needed, all able-bodied individuals will be asked to move their pit area downstairs.

Please be respectful and considerate of our fellow racers who may be unable to safely climb the stairs. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to make this year's Nationals a successful and enjoyable event for everyone.

If you choose to pit upstairs, please understand that your spot may need to be vacated if it is required for a disabled racer or event staff member. Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.

Today I got the honor of presenting Jay Jaap with a lifetime HOPRA membership!

Jay has been a member of the Northern Ohio HOPRA organization since the 1990s and has made a lasting impact both on and off the track. His accomplishments at the HOPRA Nationals include a 1st Place finish in Modified in 2006, along with top finishes in Pro Super Stock and Amateur Super Stock.

Beyond racing, Jay has supported the hobby through Holeshot Painting Company, painting custom slot car bodies since 1991 and generously donating bodies and parts to racers and HOPRA events for many years.

More importantly, Jay represents what sportsmanship is all about — supporting others, sharing his passion for the hobby, and helping the racing community grow.

Today was a very special day as Mark Rosenwinkel and Rick DeRosa honored Claude Ingrassia on his 90th birthday.

With the help of so many in the HOPRA community, we proudly recognize and celebrate Claude’s incredible accomplishments both on and off the track. From being one of the founding members of the HORROC organization in Rockford, Illinois in 1977 — a club still going strong into its fiftieth racing season — to competing in HOPRA races across five different decades, your dedication to the hobby and the people within it has left a lasting impact.

Your invaluable role in co-hosting the legendary 1982 HOPRA National Championship race is just one more example of the passion, commitment, and sportsmanship you have brought to slot car racing throughout your life. And now, you’ve added another incredible milestone to your legacy — becoming the first racer still actively competing at the age of 90.

Claude, thank you for the memories, the mentorship, and the legacy you continue to build. Happy 90th Birthday!
